  1. That's taking it too far. Yes, the show deteriorated over the seasons, but it still held some value. And the spin-off show, FEAR THE WALKING DEAD, kept its quality more or less throughout. While Bear & co.'s music was fine in context, it was not his shining hour or anything. And not something I like to listen to on album. That would be OUTLANDER, possibly BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.
  2. Indeed. I don’t know what Datameister is on about.
  3. Hehe. Yes. While I love Patton, Love Story blows it out of the water, IMO. But sure, yeah, I know it’s a big issue for film music fans.
  4. LOL, OK. A 100-year-old Geratewohl hits the German newspapers in 2074, proclaiming that INCEPTION and INTERSTELLAR are NOT iconic. The world abides.
  5. Indeed. It's incredible! As one would expect from Storaro, but I've always been curious if he looked to what was happening with Tony Scott and others at the time, with the tinted skies and all that (THE HUNGER!). I wrote a defense of the score in 2006, on FSM. Can be viewed here, for anyone interested.
  6. I NEVER expected to find this in the vinyl collection. I can say with 100% certainty that this not something my dad bought himself (even if he is a James Brown fan), but probably got from someone. But I, on the other hand, have a close connection to this album. A friend of mine bought it on CD in the 90s, I copied it to cassette and listened to it countless times. Fantastic songs, amazing score. Of course, I later bought the DiCola ROCKY IV score CD -- if that counts as an expansion, it's one of the best expansions ever. But ultra-cool to have this vinyl! Moving on to.... Haters may hate (especially over the Oscar ordeal), but I've always felt this is an amazing score. I'm glad my dad acquired it on vinyl. I'm just a sucker for melancholy. In recent years, I've been on a Lai binge, and while nothing can match his magnum opus BILITIS, this will remain a favourite. Very glad to own this on vinyl too.
  7. My second favourite of the year.
  8. Yes, fantastic mood! And the camp fire scene with the snake and all that was an extra comic touch on top.
  9. When I was a kid - the dinner scene and the traumatic ritual scene, with the heart-ripping. In older years, maybe the insane editing suspense of the spikey chamber scene, or the voyage scenes between the village and Pankot.
  10. That's fine. You're in the company of 99% of everyone else. Everyone likes to hate it, which makes me love it even more. The film is really good too, btw.
  11. I suppose, of those choices, LEGEND. But I have issues with all three of them. For LEGEND, the annoying synth farts. For BTTF, the incessant "start-stop" effect that he uses so much in his action music. For THE GOONIES, the rather transparent harmonic language. Don't get me wrong, I like all of them, but they're not even close to my favourite score of 1985. My favourite that year was LADYHAWKE.
