  1. Promotional video for Vol. 3 posted by The President's Own on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1439798344579029 Not that anyone cares (LOL), but I'm "visible" in the video after a bit of enhancement. Arrow is pointing to me in the white shirt with my cell phone in front of my face.

  3. It's being discussed as part of this thread...
  4. At the 2003 concert (Vol. 1 of this release), a three-movement suite from JFK was performed, featuring "Theme from JFK", "Motorcade", and "Arlington" (link: https://www.halleonard.com/product/4490121/suite-from-jfk). To date, only the first ("Theme...") has been released as part of the various digital and CD releases of Vol. 1. At the 2008 concert (Vol. 2 of this release), the Last Crusade selection was indeed played live to film, preceded by a lengthy explanation by Williams.
  5. Well that's a first!! Qobuz understating the specs of one of their offerings!
  6. It does appear that Vol. 3 will also receive a CD release: Amazon link https://arkivmusic.com/products/john-williams-and-the-presidents-own-vol-3 https://hbdirect.com/products/john-williams-and-the-presidents-own-vol-3?srsltid=AfmBOoof1FlAXj9LXCFB6j84WXoUVuqZZi6gfwI7txtcvoA4aEqSMT_6
  7. Interesting that Vol. 3 isn't being offered in 24-bit/96 kHz like Vol. 1 and 2... However, the Presto Music site is offering 24-bit/96 kHz downloads: https://www.prestomusic.com/classical/products/9879382--john-williams-and-the-presidents-own-vol-3?srsltid=AfmBOordX9HWy085wQM5O9QMOnBlnKjDL81IqgKfk-moNe9lAwkeP0fJ EDIT: I found artwork on another site...

  10. Thanks for the updates, @filip! I have been keeping track of the Amazon additions behind the scenes, though had not caught this newest batch of offerings. I think it may be time to go ahead and start up the 2026 FYC thread!!
  11. Yes, I'm with you, @Jay. No argument from me. @Quppa (or someone else with the Naxos "96 kHz" release) will have to chime in for clarification. Wait, the Naxos digital release of the full album hasn't happened, yet, has it? I only see "Liberty Fanfare" as a "preview" track.
  12. Maybe he is saying that (I can see how you interpreted it that way) but that can't be determined from the spectrograms he posted since they're all the same cue.
  13. Yes, except for the lossy MP3, which is to be expected. ~21 kHz for the CD and digital versions, ~16 kHz for the MP3 (with very little content between 16 and 22.05 kHz). EDIT: Sorry, now I misread your post. I don't have the digital release of the entire album to dig into. I just have the promo CD so all the tracks will be 44.1 kHz.
  14. @Quppa, what was the “earlier lossless digital release”? I don’t recall anything between the MP3 and the promo CD. Yes it is, and the stores will deflect the issue back to the source/label who provided the files to them. Similar issue with files not being true 24-bit quantization but rather 16-bit that is simply up-scaled to 24-bit. I've gone through this a few times with HDtracks and Qobuz, both with large label releases and smaller scale film score label releases, and their responses left a lot to be desired. Granted, they credited my account but treated it as doing me a favor "this one time" and even saying that "maybe hi-res audio isn't for you", despite having clear objective proof that what they are selling is being falsely advertised. I'm not seeing evidence that either was recorded at 48 kHz. @Quppa's spectrogram of the "96 kHz" "Naxos digital release" still shows the near brickwall drop at ~21 kHz, with nothing else up to 24 kHz.
