It's somehow gone quiet around JW in Japan. Seems like many fans are on site, sleeping in front of the box office...

While searching the net for signs of JW's arrival, I bumped into this (produced August 28):

So that’s how the marketing decisions are being made. It all suddenly makes sense.

I contacted DME to ask what the limit to the number of copies allowed to be pressed was, as true limited releases should have this information available (and generally printed on the artwork/booklet.) The response was "about 1400 units."

No, he also conducted the full Chicago Symphony and San Francisco concerts this year himself.

From what I have seen in the past, Japan seems to be the global centre of the western classical music industry. I think Japan will be producing very fine releases of these historical events.

    @Miguel Andrade

I have a feeling the Tokyo concert will be released physically. Universal Music Japan are pretty good with putting stuff out and considering how crazy popular these JW concerts are, I’m sure they’ll release something.

Universal and Sony have already reissued over a dozen CDs to mark JWs return to Japan, so I’m certain they’ll release a recording of the event to mark this very special occasion.

    Fingers crossed in any case!

My ticket for the Tokyo concert is just behind the orchestra, so I’m hoping I’ll be in the concert film… somewhere 😂

Technically, the Indy 5 OST on CD at Disney Emporium would qualify as "unexpected random encounter"...

Isn’t it pretty clear by now that this isn’t a limited edition? At least not in the traditional sense. Disney will keep pressing a few copies every so often until sales go down enough that it isn’t profitable to stock anymore and then they’ll let it go OOP.

    That’s my guess at least.

Anyway, who here among all JWfaners want to confess to being the disgruntled editor of The Dial Of Destiny OST’s Wikipedia page? Might be time to change it…

Wasn’t following this situation at all and had no idea it was a limited deal that sold out in pre-orders. Got notified it was back up for sale and ordered a copy. It sold out minutes later. The JW collection will remain complete!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a CD release so poorly handled. Thank goodness I’m not looking to buy this one.

It sure makes for an entertaining thread though! I’ve ridden the highs of joy and excitement and the lows of hopelessness and despair with so many JW fans. My heart has been warmed by the comradery on display. My heart trembles for those still yet to order or have their order confirmed.

Thanks Disney for bringing us closer together and teaching us the true meaning of empathy and friendship!

Not really. I just re-watched Branagh's Hamlet yesterday (I'd been meaning to for a while) and halfway through had the stupid idea for this post - which still turned into several hours of quote hunting before I was satisfied.

    Get thee to a nunnery!

Two nights together had these gentlemen.

I prithee, do not mock me, fellow student.

Neither a borrower nor a lender be,
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

It is not, nor it cannot come to good.
But break, my heart, for I must hold my tongue.

    My hour is almost come
When I to sulf’rous and tormenting flames
    Must render up myself.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

Gertrude, do not drink. - I will, my lord; I pray you pardon me. - It is the poisoned cup. It is too late.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

What do you read, my lord? - Words, words, words.

Bid the players make haste. Will you two help to hasten them?

Madam, I swear I use no art at all.

That’s good. "Moblèd queen" is good.

My lord, I will take my leave of you. - You cannot, sir, take from me anything that I will more willingly part withal.

My lord, you played once i' th' university, you say? - That did I, my lord, and was accounted a good actor.

Man delights not me, no, nor women neither, though by your smiling you seem to say so.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

O most pernicious woman! O villain, villain, smiling, damnèd villain!

Mother, you have my father much offended.

Ah ha! Come, some music! Come, the recorders!

I am very proud, revengeful, ambitious, with more offenses at my beck than I have thoughts to put them in, imagination to give them shape, or time to act them in. What should such fellows as I do crawling between earth and heaven? We are arrant knaves all; believe none of us.

Methinks it is like a weasel!

I prithee take thy fingers from my throat,
For though I am not splenitive and rash,
Yet have I in me something dangerous,
Which let thy wisdom fear. Hold off thy hand.

Nor do not saw the air
    too much with your hand, thus, but use all gently;
for in the very torrent, tempest, and, as I may say,
whirlwind of your passion, you must acquire and
beget a temperance that may give it smoothness. O,
it offends me to the soul to hear a robustious,
periwig-pated fellow tear a passion to tatters, to very
rags, to split the ears of the groundlings, who for the
most part are capable of nothing but inexplicable
dumb shows and noise. I would have such a fellow
whipped for o’erdoing Termagant. It out-Herods
    Herod. Pray you, avoid it.

    O, O, O, O!

    Go, bid the soldiers shoot.

Write a complaint to Disney and ask for a replacement copy. Then replace the jewel case of the damaged copy and sell it on ebay.

Most empty jewel cases I've found are of mediocre to bad quality. I've never been able to find empty cases of the quality the big classical music labels use, so I've started purchasing cheap Naxos boxes and cannibalise the jewel cases.
