The Dial of Destiny Appreciation Thread

There’s only one thing about the movie that I dislike (Helena knocking out Indy at the end) - everything else ranges from decent to really great. So yeah, I like this movie a lot. -
Star Wars Star Wars Trilogy: The Original Soundtrack Anthology turns 30!
Stark replied to Tallguy's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I recently got this set second-hand, while I probably won’t listen often due to preferring complete presentations, I do appreciate its much better sound quality for ROTJ. The alternate takes of ANH are interesting as well. -
He’s definitely working on TROP already, not to mention Outlander might be in scoring as well.

He’s good when he tries! He just rarely tries. -
Soundtracks, Compilations, or other recently purchased Music

It’s difficult to buy Morricone when you don’t have any because… where do you start? I don’t want to spend my money on the big ones I can hear streaming (except perhaps The Mission). -
Perhaps this will give us a Williams-Ross collaboration like Indy was originally envisioned.

It’s undoubtably temped. Sadly that theme doesn’t play often in Iron Man though.- 89 replies

Bagpipes are great! -
Powell didn’t even do much on KFP2, and he was obviously absent from 3, so I’m not surprised he hasn’t returned for this either.

Zimmer and Steve Mazzaro are confirmed to be composing Kung Fu Panda 4 (via hans-zimmer.com). Can’t complain with these choices!

I’m not as familiar with the scores Kronos releases, so if the prices are good (which I’m still trying to figure out) I’ll definitely partake.

It’s Pleasantville and Serenity. -
I don’t see a thread for Kronos so I thought I’d make one. I’ve never ordered from them before, is the website legitimately saying shipping is a flat 6 euros for all places, all order sizes?! http://www.kronosrecords.com Also, rather frustrating for them to not have an end date on the current sale!

That makes sense. Do other labels that release WB OSTs have a similar situation with those scores? -

I’m hoping for David Newman releases, he has a lot of unreleased goodies, while Thomas tends to write short scores. I wonder who had the rights to Randy’s bizarre rejected Air Force One?
