  1. You have to laugh when you notice the good folk at DME have quietly pushed the shipping date from late March to mid-April. Looks like another fine DME mess in the making, even before you try to get your head around the insanely high asking price of the set.
  2. Wow! The repressing is out of stock already! That didn't take long. Either Intrada pressed a tiny batch or there were many, many people waiting to order it. Hope everyone who wanted a copy managed to get it...
  3. Yes: I've used them a few times over the years; mostly for Morricone stuff. They're a little slow to ship but communication is good and postage to the UK wasn't too bad from what I can recall. Another site I've used in the past is vascocine.fr. They are slightly more expensive than the others but good to deal with. Am pleasantly surprised to see Intrada making JAWS available again and happy for those who missed out to now be able to get a copy at a reasonable price. It is strange though: no announcement or anything; simply back in stock with an unaltered programme after years of being unavailable...
  4. ...or that - seeing as the DoD CD is out of print - the box set will eventually be released around Christmas '24 with Concord's Indy I-IV and Return of the Jedi...
  5. Bravo Disney, Bravo! How utterly, predictably depressing! A lazy, minimal effort reissue but the price! Oh, my god; the price! $150 is totally insane for five single CDs! Who amongst the "likes the occasional film tune but isn't a score-obsessed fan and couldn't name a soundtrack speciality label if their life depended on it" public are really going to spend that sort of money? I own both the Concord box and the DoD CD so most definitely won't be throwing any money Disney's way. Besides: considering the shameful debacles over both the DoD CD and vinyl, I predict this'll be another long-running joke of slipping release dates and delayed printings. Such a shame...
  6. I'm taking bets as to whether it'll actually ship this side of Christmas or if Disney's licence rights expire before they get this out. It's quite incredible that any major label could actually be this useless and incompetent! One has to simply assume they really don't care about the physical media they're selling and/or they've put the Organisation's village idiots in charge of it all. I'm really feeling quite sorry for anyone who pre-ordered this...
  7. Would have posted this sooner but had to pop down to the bank to retrieve my copy of Dial of Destiny from the safe deposit box...
  8. Prepare to suddenly learn you have a vast array of long-lost relatives who just happen to frequent this board...
  9. I'm genuinely amazed! Fourteen hundred copies is nothing; I would have assumed they'd have pressed three or four times that number. A bewilderingly odd decision...
  10. I've noticed that the banner graphic on the DME store homepage has been updated to remove the CD and now shows just the LP and the picture disc. Not sure when that happened but it might suggest it's now gone for good:
  11. Damn you, Disney Music Emporium! Up until last night, my two most valuable CDs were part of my investment portfolio and I had an eye on early retirement. Now I'll have to spend the weekend running reprojections!
  12. Superb news! I pre-ordered it when it was announced and can't recommend it highly enough. Every JW collection needs this!
  13. Seems the most likely explanation, particularly with the Oct. shipping date. There's an outside possibility these copies are ones that were initially sent out to be sold in their park stores and they're now reclaiming those and having them sent back to their warehouse. The fact they're now limiting it to only one per customer seems odd if it were a second batch being printed but perhaps they've only ordered a small run. It would be great if they could give us a little more info (e.g. due to popular demand we are retuning this title to our store, etc.) but their communication throughout this entire debacle has been practically non-existent so we can't be too surprised. Regardless, it's great news for those who missed out and bad news for the scalpers on Ebay.
  14. Yeah; I'd be pretty mad but I had always hoped DME would make more copies available and we just needed to be a bit patient. There's still a copy on Ebay currently at $560 with 26 bids. Whoever "wins" that auction is going to be mad as a snake when they find out... I was fortunate to have snagged a copy in early August and am very pleased for those on this forum who missed out but are now able to get it at a reasonable price. As far as the taxes were concerned, I had no complaints: $11.98 for the CD, $4.85 for tax and $12.29 for shipping to the UK. I didn't incur any additional customs charges but maybe I just got lucky.
  15. HEADS UP PEOPLE: the CD is available for pre-order! Go get it! https://www.disneymusicemporium.com/product/XVCD60/john-williams-indiana-jones-and-the-dial-of-destiny Shipping date of October 18th so you have to assume they're printing another batch. (20:40 UK time)
