I'm willing to give some wiggle room on the tweaks that happened over the summer of 1977. But I think it gets way more clear cut from 77 to 78 or 77 to 81.

This 'Blade Runner Blues' is more Blade Runner than Blade Runner. It would have been perfect if the Fender Rhodes has some reverb on it.

She visited the set during the Capaldi era, and of course Twelve had the picture of her on his desk in his rooms at the university during his last series. I felt sure an appearance was gonna happen, but alas no.   

He doesn't even mention Rowling at all and just says it is based on a book.

Ha! Funny thing is, to my kids it wasn't the Doctor and Donna, it was Scrooge McDuck and Magica De Spell! The TARDIS car chase is still just about the most batshit crazy thing that actually works in just about all of nuWho.
 
 
As aware as I am of the box ticking (um, is that too much of a euphemism here?) I didn't get that as romantic at all. It was definitely a bond, and it was touchingly warm. To me it was a high point of the season because I thought both actresses nailed it. Hell, wouldn't you love to see that kind of arc with the Doctor and Jamie? If you're going to "ship" anyone it would be the Doctor and... the Doctor.
 
I like Yaz a lot. I loved when they were in the 60's (right?) and she announced herself with her full police title. Not in any kind of pompous way but just because that's who she is. Seriously she's the most "responsible adult" we've had since Martha Jones. (Sorry, Graham.)
 
I just realized: I might watch this again. I haven't said that since Capaldi.

I'd heard him say something more generic along the lines of "Everybody buys shoes so why piss off half your customers?" but of course the only thing I could find now is more specific "Republicans buy shoes too".
 
I'm sure there are lots of reasons that the box office is down but I bet the lecturing is not nothing. (Hell, DUNE made more money!)
 
 
I like previews. But when I saw Dune the movie started THIRTY FIVE MINUTES past the show time.
 
 
Awesome. I have no idea WHEN we'll see it, but it's second on the family list after Spider-Man.
 

I didn't find this that hard to follow. (I think the only place I got lost was when UNIT had the TARDIS from earlier in the series and I missed why. But that was because I was expecting it to be a crossover with Spearhead from Space. My bad.) (I suddenly NEED to see 13 meet 3.)
 
I think maybe my scales have been badly recalibrated at this point. It was just a joy to watch six hours of Doctor Who and not feel lectured to. So maybe my expectations are too low now.
 
IMHO I got tired of Moffat because he would always set up these mouse-traps and he would almost never stick the landing. (This is why I am still gobsmacked by Time of the Doctor. It managed to be joy start to finish AND it wrapped up the Smith era perfectly.)
 
We watched Runaway Bride the other night. What a weird mix of joy and utter meanness to Donna. But it reminded my (again) of how much I miss RTD era Murray Gold.

At one of Goldsmith's two LSO concerts in 2003 (his last with the orchestra, it would turn out), we were treated to a 30 minute suite from STTMP. Live orchestra, blaster beam, no dialogue or sound effects.

In school, I got half of a Stereotomy. 
 
The nurse sent me home with mono. 

We finished Season 3 this weekend.

Other than that it was wonderful! All the usual family dynamic that we love, physics that you don't want to think too much about. And amazing music.
 
I need to go back over the whole score again. Everyone vs. SAAR (that should be SAR, right?) is just SO big. I mean, nobody writes like this anymore, do they? This is like Independence Day big. Welcome to Alpha Centauri is joyous. I need to check, does that start with the "chores" theme from season 1?

Not my first time seeing this, a second watch.  I found it held up immensely, I was just as entertained the second time as I was the first.  And luckily even though I remembered the basic plot, I had forgotten all the details about it, so it was nice to experience all that again.  The plot is superb, and all the actors do great jobs, and Nathan Johnson's score is perfect.  Great film!
