Naïve Old Fart got a reaction from Bilbo in The Force Awakens Disney Records OST
Hans Zimmer still works that way.

The little horn motif in KIRK'S EXPLOSIVE REPLY, as the Reliant files over the saucer of the Enterprise.

Naïve Old Fart got a reaction from Bespin in Expanded releases: those that include the Original Album and those that should
Bess, you don't really need LC, but you need the DCC Raiders, as it has the full version of "Desert Chase".
Of course, you also need the Concord box!

Naïve Old Fart reacted to Jay in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Gareth Edwards 2016)
It's a movie about stealing the plans to the Empire's new superweapon. Darth Vader is the Empire's Force-wielding enforcer. Why wouldn't he be in it?

Naïve Old Fart got a reaction from Melange in James Horner 1953-2015
Brilliant, Melange! Fucking brilliant! I played "Brainstorm" on the day that he died....and I cried. He never composed a finer score.

B indeed. The series is Bb -> Ab -> C, then C -> F#, F# -> Eb and then Eb -> B. It's basically a mixture of chords separated by a minor/major third and a tritone which lends this passage its very colorful sound.

Naïve Old Fart got a reaction from Sharkissimo in Which original album do you find the least representative of the score?
I guess that it has to be "Earthquake", because it is a total re-recording. "Jaws", "E.T.", and "The Eiger Sanction" also come to mind. Bespin is right: "ROTJ" was unforgivable, but, in 1983, that's all we had.

It's been playing on repeat in my head since morning!

Naïve Old Fart reacted to A24 in What film score theme/melody is going through your head right now?
The Tennis Game, while sitting on my bike. If this was composed by Prokofiev or Mussorgsky, the classic Josephs of the world would call it genius. BTW, that climax!

American Beauty by Thomas Newman: Epitome of quirky Newman and he still finds time to pen a sweet little piano theme to melt your heart for this one.
Angels in America by Thomas Newman: All that is wonderful and tremendous about the composer is here in this impressive package. Beautiful.

Naïve Old Fart reacted to Dixon Hill in The Amazing Electronic Music Thread
I saw a photoshop recently of a poster from The Expendables with all the faces replaced with Jarre and his collaborators. Hans looked particularly amusing.

That's certainly a different point of View Ricard. I believe in doing what I can, in crying when I must, in laughing when I choose.
It has been noticed that some folks believe I'm Losing my Mind, but it is a metamorphosis more than anything else, in the sense that with time and age I had to change 'cause my behaviour was getting strange. People on the street caught my eye and I began to think I might be their kind of guy. Seeing that I was Up against It, it was time to move to a new phase of interaction and It must be obvious now, hence the Jack the Lad comment.
I sometimes think that I'm too many people too many people, too many people at once and Left to my own Devices, I probably would have become them all but the last thing I wanted to do was to sneer or disappear behind a veneer of self-control, so for all of those who don't fit it who follow their instincts and are told they sin this is a prayer for a different way.

If JW was watching the show...who was conducting? JW getting high on his own music? I think your dream says more about JW, than it does of you.

Naïve Old Fart got a reaction from A24 in Blu-ray News and Deals
No. "Birth Of A Nation" is a great film". "Lawrence Of Arabia" is a great film. "The Seven Samurai" is a great film. "The Searchers" is a great film.
"ID4" is a piece of trashy, LCD "entertainment"...but it's fun to watch.

I know what you mean. It's been one of my very favourite JW OSTs since I purchased a vinyl copy, back in 1975. It's also a very dry recording. Great!
Bes, don't you pay any attention to this guy. Unlike you, he's not a New World Man, or even today's Tom Sawyer!
No it's not.
