Received these today:

Totally bitchin'!

I take it you like the Thunderbirds?

I sure do. One of my favorite shows from when I was a kid.

Only Telekids, Bassie & Adriaan, and the Adam West Batman series come close.

Thunderbirds are GO! (And cool!) Neimoidian, I like Dave Grusin's stuff too, especially his soundtracks for the tv series "Search" and "The Name of The Game" (Now I am showing my age!)

Mark...do you like the music for "Space 1999" and "UFO" too?

  • 2 weeks later...

I kinda splurged on eBay the other day and bought 5 albums I've been wanting. Just got them today:

The Great Mouse Detective (Mancini)

The Hulk (Elfman)

Sleepers (Williams) (yes, finally!)

Atlantis: The Lost Empire (JNH)

Legends of the Fall (Horner)

Got the whole bunch for about $37. Not a steal, but not too bad either.

All great scores, except for the first, which I never heard.

The Great Mouse Detective is a fun score by Mancini.

I think it's still available thru Varese's website.

It doesn't appear to be - nothing came up in a search. :)

However, it's easy to find used/new on Amazon.

I have that Final Fantasy CD; really great stuff.

Yup, mostly great, except for the rather crappy One Winged Angel (best one is still the orchestral recording on the Reunion album) and the imo subpar Liberi Fatali. :)

Yeah, that has to be the worst One Winged Angel recording that I've ever heard, but it can be forgiven because the piece is so good.

$138 shipped which is a damn good deal in my opinion. I've seen it go for a lot higher than that.

Edit: I will point out it's a SEALED copy, hehe. I will be opening it when I get it though. :)

I'll be sending payment off for this today.

Yes that is the Varese Limited Edition of the score.  :)

I got mine for 19 bucks, you got royally screwed, and mine was sealed too.

I've never paid much for music, and I never will, thats just obscenely stupid to pay that much.

I didn't get screwed for Predator. You probably paid for yours when it first came out. Not everyone here is as "lucky" as you are Joe so I frankly don't care what you think.

Do you actually care what anyone else thinks? :)

Anyhoo, I ordered Birdman of Alcatraz, Runaway (or Runaway Train as SAE called it :D), Seven Cities of Gold and Careful, He Might Hear You. And I also found the original release Close Encounters on Amazon for £2, so I bought that.

I didn't get mine when it first came out, I just am a frugal and smart shopper, you should try it some time. Seriously you don't know how much your bragging made me laugh.

You spent more on 1 Cd, than I would on any 12. Add that to the fact you probably won't even take good care of it. Next time you'll have to spend over 200 for the replacement.
