anyone who brags about spending that kind of money really needs to rethink their priorities.

the object of collecting soundtracks is to find value, while getting value out of your money.

and yes Vosk I think you care because otherwise your post would reflect your potty mouth.

Go to hell Joe. I really don't fucking care what you post. If I get banned for this so be it. I honestly am fed up with your shit. I'm sure there are others here that feel the same way.

In general, not specifically to Vosk, people just need to learn to let the annoying or anger-inducing things others say roll off, and just laugh at the situation. Especially on the Internet. It took me a long time to realize that, but it's nice to not get so worked up about what someone types to you online, and just have a sense of humor about it. You can end up getting so angry about something someone said that you perceived as rude or uncalled for, and then end up reacting in a way that's worse, more childish and vulgar than the person who pissed you off in the first place. It also helps to just wait a while to post a response, and let yourself cool down. Giving yourself an ulcer over every little comment is no fun.

In any case, I personally wouldn't ever pay over $100 for a CD, but if someone wants to, that's their perogative.

Is this really worth getting banned over? This is just a petty little dispute. It means nothing.

Yeah , it´s really a coincidence. I just happened to stumble upon this stuff all at the same time.

Today I bought:

Starship troopers (poledouris)

Les Miserables (Poledouris)

Tomorrow Never Dies (Arnold)

Shakespeare in Love (Warbeck)

Dances with Wolves (Barry)

Money well spent?

Yes, it's a great score whichever version you get. From what I hear, none of the releases are complete, so if/when it is completely released, I'll end up buying a fifth copy of the score (I have the 18-track, 21-track and 24-track versions, as well as a SA-CD that I can't play ).

I actually prefer the shorter album. The long one is a bit tedious to get through all the way to the end.

I remember when the "Gold" disc came out with the three extra tracks and being upset when I bought it and 2 of them ended up being almost pop versions of two themes. I ended up keeping it because I had sold my original version to make room for it.

I love the expanded version because it contains the film version of "The Buffalo Hunt" and the near complete version of "Looks Like A Suicide"

The only thing that disappoints me about the complete release is that it's missing the music when Dunbar arrives at the Indian village for the first time.

I doubt I'll get the SACD.

Yes, those parts are great. And I think Journey to Camp Sedgewick is also slightly extended.

I can't imagine paying money for the expanded score.

Its the only version of Dances I have...and it cost me about USD8 in stores here. :)

Btw, which tracks would you recommend should be left out of the expanded score to reduce its....boring-ness?

Good question...I bought the expanded score when it came out, since I didn't have any of the previous releases. I don't really remember much about it, save for a few highlights. :)

I agree with that.

- Marc, who paid exactly as much for the expanded release as the OST of DwW.

EDIT: Incidentally, both my copy of Casino Royale (2006) and 24 - Seasons 4 & 5 have been sent. Yay!

Casino Royale

I listened to it only once and these are my initial impressions. So everything may change after few more listens.

The album is probably too long and there is not enough memorable material on it, but I'm glad to have 74-minute score only Arnold album that is light on electronics and which showcases his (and Dodd's too, I believe) orchestral voice. Good enough for my money.

The World Is Not Enough was probably more fun than this and it doesn't come even close to Tomorrow Never Dies, but it is still worth it.

Karol, who despises Die Another Day album and haven't even listened to it in full.

I think I've listened to DAD once or twice but everytime I try to listen to it I find myself stopping in the middle because the damn electronic junk is annoying.

With all due respect to Poledouris (and I have plenty of it, especially now) I think Barry was the perfect man for the job.

It always struck me as the direct sequel or companion piece to Out of Africa, which is also a lovely score.

Is JNH's Dinosaur worth buying? Say...over TWINE? How about JNH's The Postman?

Dinosaur is a thoroughly enjoyable score. Highlights include "The Egg Travels" and especially "The Courtship," for me. I don't know how it compares to TWINE, though.

Me too. Very good album.

I was beginning to believe that i was the only person in this forum to listen to music other than soundtracks and other things like that.
