No Fucking way!!!!!!!!!!

Holy shit!!!!!

Sorry for language but this is huge, could this also be the door opening at Paramount?????

Man this year is off to a great start as far as film music goes.... Honey I Shrunk The Kids, One Little Indian, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Twilight Zone, Hanover Street, to name a few.

And now Airplane!.... "It hit me like a thunderbolt. I had to ask the guy next to me to pinch me to make sure I wasn't dreaming."

Just saw this on the FSM boards:

I heard back in early March or so that this was coming. Reportedly there is a new exec at Paramount who has changed policies, so they are now open to licensing at least some soundtracks--generally those that are uncomplicated in terms of clearances. So AIRPLANE! is not the only Paramount score coming; there's a major, much-requested one in the works.

What's the major, much-requested one?

It better be Black Sunday or one of the Star Trek scores. :)

In all seriousness, just think of all the films Paramount has done, it could be anything.

Well I can tell you this, if there was album released with songs, that might rule out an expanded score. So Top Gun would be a no, plus the album is still in print.

Also we don't know how well Paramount has looked after their older materials.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Multiply that by a thousand, and you have a small fraction of what my live action reaction was to this news. Paramount is open for business, baby. It's only a matter of time before Universal opens up.

I am very much anticipating this release...and the many more that we will feast on in the future. WOOHOO!!

Yes, and Top Gun has seen two soundtrack albums released anyways, a normal and an expanded release. More Faltermeyer material would be nice, but not as necessary as some others I'd like to see.

I think a complete Star Trek score anthology box set would make the Indiana Jones box set look like nothing. But that's far beyond LLL's scope to provide or Paramount's scope to part ways with.

Crap, I just realized orders commence at 3pm on May 12th. I'll be just nearing the end of my class, which is actually my last day of class. Gotta speed home and order this because I'm positive it'll go fast.

You can pre-order it from SAE or moviemusic.com before then

And Maurizio, congrats. Now you can change "Frequent Poster" into whatever you want!

You toast a wedding, not a soundtrack release. :P

I'm happy just to toast the fact that there's a drink in my hand!

This is great news! Will I be buying Airplane? No. Am I excited about the possibility of future Paramount releases? Oh yeah baby!

I know that beyond Star Trek and Indy, the first two that pop to my mind would be complete releases for Poledouris's The Hunt for Red October (I could easily see LaLaLand releasing this) and Bernstein's The Ten Commandments.

That would make my year if LaLa Land were able to release a complete remastered version of The Hunt For Red October.
