publicist 4,643
Sure. Only that Gordon usually is far above that and you cited one of the few things that's well below his level.
Jurassic Shark 12,137
In your opinion, yes. I found the score to be a breath of fresh air when it came out, and it was generally well received.
publicist 4,643
Prominently using the Tallis-Fantasy certainly was no fresh air but an old fart.
Jurassic Shark 12,137
I was of course referring to the original score, but the Tallis fantasia indeed adds greatly to the atmosphere of the film.

It was most disappointing after the other two Gordons back then. I have it, and I've watched the film several times, and all I can remember from the score (aside from the non-original bits) I can indeed only describe as drumming over generic chords. Brad Decter orchestrated the score as this was done via reconstruction. If I remember correctly. I loved this album. It got great mileage from me. Holko 9,547
CE3K and The Cowboys sound like they were professionally recorded yesterday. Supes is Warner, too, I don't know if Mike would do or have to do anything beyond previous releases for this year's anniversary one, but if he would, I bet it would sound great. 1977

But scores like Jaws just sound so... old. I don't know how to say it otherwise, you can just hear it was recorded in another era. Also, what do they mean by 'reconstruction' in this case? Didn't they take the original sheet music? This wasn't a by-ear transcription, was it?
