What Is The Last Film You Watched? (Older Films)

The sessions. I dunno... My first thought was: God, John Hawkes has a stupid voice, but in the end, I managed to appreciate it. When Cheryl and Mark started to love each other, I feared it would turn into a dramatic finale wherein Cheryl tragically ditches her husband and chooses to live with Mark, but that didn't happen. Didn't like how Helen Hunt kept mechanically dictating stuff into her recorded, did like Rhea Perlman's thirty seconds of screentime. The ending was all right, I suppose, but I wasn't really moved by the whole thing, not least because of Marco Beltrami's unbelievably dull score.

7/10

One of the highest ratings I've seen you give a film and not a single word of comment? Guess you only like talking about stuff you hate!

Fortunately, I still come across 7/10 movies, Koray. What is there to say? The Founder is just another solid biopic. Nothing special or unusual to report. You already know that Michael Keaton is going to deliver the goods, don't you?

The poster says it all.

Gaspar Noe's debut movie is overly explicit (voiceover on steriods constantly preaches hate and disgust), too extreme and repelling. Not my kind of cinema. 1/10

Image result for Seul contre Tous

Remove the voiceover and maybe it's a good movie.

Why not try Noe's 'Love' next, complete with 3D cumshot (apparently).

Pass the tissues, lol.

Agreed. For me Star Wars became a lot more interesting the moment Lucas was no longer involved. TFA is easily my favourite, and then ROTS.

If Disney and Kathleen Kennedy can keep up the quality, then I don't mind a new SW film every year.

No more Gaspar for me. Strange, I remember liking Irreversible.

I mean, she isn't unattractive though. Just miserable as sin. But I still think she's probably better looking than Emma Watson.

She's gay.

I'm sure she's dated men and women in the past but on SNL the other week during her monologue she talked about how she's gay

Why is it both men and women can be "gay", but only women can be "lesbians"?

Isn't anyone from that Greek island technically a Lesbian?

What's the relevance though?

He's done this before when I made lusty comments about Kate McKinnon, as if her being a lesbian is meant to be a turn off or something.

I guess there isn't any, tbh.

I definitely didn't imply that at all

Or perhaps he meant she can't be dirty if she's gay? It's a mystery!

Definitely not this either.  You guys are both putting words in my mouth

Nothing special (it is very cliché on every level) but good performances and you have seen good performances before. 5/10

Agreed. As courtroom dramas go, it's ok. As father-and-son films go, it's ok.

5/10? I concur.

This evening, I'm paying a return visit to a European town. It has a hospital dating back to the 1100s, it's fully-booked for Christmas...and it's a shithole.
