JOHN WILLIAMS: Life and Work

Looks quite nifty I must say! :)

Who is the sculptor if I may ask?

Posted

Not shure about the pose... and the head size.

P.S. Miguel, you can now post your comment that will say: "I actually love the pose and the head size." :D

Not sure about the pose... and the head size.

What?!!! It is of course the aggressive John Williams we so seldom see. ;)

This is the best Williams' sculpture I've ever seen.

It is also the only one you have seen, isn't it?

No love for the shouting giant head John Williams?

Posted

I really like the new one. I would definitely get it if it were less expensive (ie $20-30), and obviously made of a less expensive metal.

This whole thread is ridiculous. John Williams bronze sculptures? Really?

Everyone knows the only appropriate material for a John Williams sculpture is marble. He should also be giving the "I'll try!" thumbs up.

What about a John Williams jack-in-the-box (john-in-the-box)?

A John-in-a-box sounds great!

Ha, ha, hilarious! :)

I'm reminded of the cover of Gramophone a few years ago, where they had this bust of John Williams. That, at least, looked pretty decent. I have the magazine, but couldn't find a linkable picture online.

The sculpture is a fine bobblehead... and i think that was the intent... Aren't they pretty popular?

But it's too expensive, i think :(

Posted

It's unintentionally hilarious, so of course I want one. Not at that price though. His expression is how I imagine his reaction to Gustavo Santaolalla taking Oscar gold.

It's a homunculus!

Just realised it costs 211 quid. Fucking hell.

I beg you to remove your profile photo. I ask out of respect to the artist who created it. It is also a copyrighted work. Thank you.

Who is the sculptor if I may ask?

Andrés Valverde Jiménez (1958). Spanish sculptor. Resident in Seville.

Is there money in bronze sculptures of composers? I'm saving my money for the bronzed John Williams. It'll prevent all decomposition.

As a material, carbonite is fictitious. The term also applies to an explosive. But as the famous carbonite pose of Han Solo in distress, it's hard to top the one of George.

Where did you dig up this old fossil?

Posted

Unforgettable old fossil, to be honest.
