Apparently the unpronounceable virtuoso who released Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Harry Potter 1-3 for two pianos in the last few years has an album doing the same with Close Encounters, E.T., Stargate, and Independence Day?! The interview on this page makes it sound like his most recent work... http://www.polymnie.net/pages/cds/E.T.html EDIT: Here's a year-old YouTube clip of a solo version of "Over the Moon," which is apparently on the album: He's on Spotify. bruce marshall and pete

Locrius 97
Looks like some good stuff on that album, in addition to the Williams: THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, MULAN, TWIN PEAKS, THE MATRIX... I think I'll have to pick this one up. Bespin

All three will probably be single disc releases, as each of the original CDs and LPs had a running time of less than 80 minutes. Hopefully the Empire CD will include the missing LP tracks. Also in November, there's two different LP releases of A New Hope: A 3 LP version titled Star Wars: A New Hope and a single LP version titled Star Wars: A New Hope (40th Anniversary) (Rsd). I can't see there's any new LP releases of Empire or Jedi. In January, Sony Classical will release a 20 CD box named John Williams Conductor (with emphasis on conductor to distinguish him from John Williams the guitarist). This will most likely include both JW soundtracks, concert works, and music by other composers. igger6 894
Maybe this is stretching the definition of "non-concert works," but the deluxe re-release (pause to boo/hiss at this exploitative development in the pop music industry) of Lindsey Stirling's year-old Christmas album contains a decent reading of the Home Alone Main Title. It's novel in Stirling's typical manner, noodling around with the melody in generally pleasant ways. Enjoy! SteveMc and Bespin

igger6 894
I'm continuing to beat the drum on this thread because I don't think we have one for general covers even of concert pieces, but here's a pianist who apparently specializes in music for ballet dancers, covering (what else?) Bespin 8,484
Great cover, it really look like a quality recording! Thanks! EDIT: If I remember well, you are blind. So the smile-less Bearded guy, almost bald, wear Harry Potter glasses, white skirt, Hogwart tie... and he's holding his baguette on his shoulder, and they added a spark at the end of it. That's creepy. bollemanneke

igger6 894
I'm so glad this guy exists and have been beating his drum forever (just see the top of this page!), but yeah, I wish he had more of a focus on listenability than comprehensiveness. Not every cue works well in reduction. I still Google him every few months to see where his JW fixation will lead him next, though.
