It's a weird criticism, to be sure. Aren't the cornball scripts part of the charm?

Critics remarking that the score is phenomenal probably means it's loud and noticeable in prominent bits. Or maybe they noticed a particularly good Raiders quote at a heroic moment. Hopefully it means there are plenty of sequences where it's front and centre in terms of creative focus.

It's really a return back to an earlier age.
