Wojo 2,453
So is it a remake of the movie, or a reinvention of Phillip K. Dick's short story? I fail to see how "contemporary" they need to make it.Oh.Oh. They're going to redefine the Martian "terrorists." Makes sense. Mars is a desert, and so is....well, I mean...oh dear. This is bad. Bay says he's not going anywhere. My brother and I were talking and came up with a funny idea for a reality show. Take two directors, get them signed on to certain projects, and once production starts make them switch. Our example was switching Michael Bay and Clint Eastwood
Nick Parker 3,040
An article excerpt from veteran reporter John McMadeup (thought until now to be retired):...Up until now, FOX's newest reality show Whose Film Is It Anyway? featured small indie directors, and the results were met with mixed response from viewers and low ratings. However, FOX hopes that the newest "Director switch-a-roo" will turn a higher profit, and they feel confident that "both longtime fans and newcomers to the series will be pleased". In a recent press release, FOX CEO Billy McAlias revealed that "Michael Bay will helm Clint Eastwood's newest drama Gran Torino, with Clint Eastwood taking the reins of the not-so-anticipated sequel Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen." This would be a milestone for Michael Bay, who has previously only directed big budget action films such as The Rock and Pearl Harbor. We asked the 44-year-old director in an interview if he saw the film as a challenge. Michael Bay on taking over Gran Torino: "Explain this movie to me again, what is it about? A race car? What do you mean, 'normal'? It does not transform into a giant robot?! Well, does it explode, at least?"When asked to comment on how he would approach the follow-up to the 2007 summer blockbuster Transformers, Clint Eastwood just squinted at us and emitted a low guttural growl until we backed away. Say what you want about the film, but The Happening did pretty well at the box office. Made back it's budget threefold.i would like 'the pacific' to be scored by giacchino instead of zimmer and co... Jacob 0
Lot of bad things can be said about him, but I like that he uses long takes. Looking forward to the score.Woah. That got me excited.Yeah, it was a kid's TV series but I enjoyed it. The show actually had a full story arc it completed over a planned three seasons, had character development and was often more funny and intense than expected for a kid's show. Not to say it wasn't often stupid and cringe worthy also.I really enjoyed the music. Lot's of themes and motifs. Soundtrack.net did a feature on it: http://www.soundtrack.net/features/article/?id=252Check out the main theme that opened each episode (I personally really like it): It's use throughout the series was like a combination Luke's theme/Force theme and occasionally had the same spine tingling effect on me.Really interested to see what Howard will do for the movie; whether he'll revisit any thematic material or stay totally original. Hope he'll at least nod to the main theme at some point.

Koray Savas 2,251
There have always been remakes and adaptations. Hollywood is not out of ideas, the economy sucks so they remake things or adapt certain things because there is already a guaranteed percentage of viewers. Even without the economy ploy, there are always people who will go see bad movies, and you never know when one of these ridiculous sounding ideas might be good.I'd actually like to see a Smurfs movie. Koray Savas 2,251
I just watched 2 trailers, both of which have the exact same plots as previous movies. This is where people run out of ideas, not with the stupid/ridiculous ideas you read on news sites.Brothers - same thing as Pearl Harbor. Two brothers, one is in the army and dies. His brother takes care of his wife and kids, they fall in love. Turns out the brother is alive, he comes home, problems ensue...Surviving Crooked Lake - same thing as Deliverance. Four 14-year old girls go on a canoe trip, find a dead body, problems ensue...
