SF1_freeze 138 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Or they will just postpone it for a year... which doesnt matter cause JW probably won't score a non Spielberg film.
indy4 160 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I hope Spielberg doesn't direct Tintin 2. I'd much rather see him tackle new projects, mostly because recent JW sequels are plagued with tracking from earlier films, and also because the Tintin score, while being good, is not the best JW has to offer I think. And there's a chance JW would score tintin 2 anyways, especially if they think Spielberg will direct all or or part of Tintin 3 (which may be the case).
Brónach 1,330 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Although I think that JW is into continuity within a saga, he could easily approach big chunks of it in a very different manner, if the film is an Eastern European spy adventure instead of a swashbuckling treasure chase.
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted July 30, 2012 Author Posted July 30, 2012 Jackson can easily squeeze the 30 day-shooting between the Hobbits and hand the post-production to somebody else.Kinda like Spielberg did with the first film.
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Little news: According to Anthony Horowitz's Twitter he will be meeting with Peter Jackson on January for second draft discussions.https://twitter.com/bdsfgtsgsetgsdrThis probably means that they'll start filming on middle or late 2013, which probably means a 2015 release... Seems like an awful long time to wait for! I just hope they don't keep delaying it and delaying it...
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 So that might mean a 2014 scoring window.Perhaps he'll try.
hornist 1,261 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 So this gratuitous Hobbit made the delay of this more interesting movie. Damn.
gkgyver 1,647 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 To me, Tintin is as interesting as cold dishwater.
Richard P 5,303 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I didn't find it overwhelmingly engaging. I'm in no rush for a sequel.
Jilal 681 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 To me, Tintin is as interesting as cold dishwater. So are you. Wojo 1
Quintus 6,499 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Dishwashers are magnificent entertainment.
Luke Skywalker 2,385 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 the premise of a new Williams score is always interesting.
gkgyver 1,647 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I'm talking about the movies. And the comics.Dishwashers are magnificent entertainment. If you use them to cook a piece of meat, yes.
Bryant Burnette 790 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I liked the first movie, but I didn't get even close to loving it. I'd definitely rather have Spielberg spend his time on other things, and I guess I'd say the same for Jackson. If they make a second Tintin, I'll watch it; but if they don't, it won't bother me in the slightest.
pixie_twinkle 60 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I loved the first Tintin. Can't wait for the sequel. Fingers crossed it happens.
Pieter Boelen 1,032 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I have rarely seen one single movie that they crammed as much adventure into as the first film. Bring on the next one already!
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Finally, some news!During the press tour for An Unexpected Journey in Belgium (via Bleeding Cool), Jackson told reporters that the plan is to shoot the performance capture for theTintin sequel at some point next year for a 2015 release date. Spielberg previously revealed that Jackson will only need 31 or 21 days to complete the performance capture portion of the film, so it’s conceivable that he could move right into that after he finally wraps on The Hobbit.http://collider.com/...jackson/217351/
Once 1,084 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Let's hope Williams is up for it! That, and Star Wars. Then 2015 could be a surprising year.
hornist 1,261 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 After seeing The Hobbit, I'm not sure PJ is the right man to direct Tintin 2. He is the expert for the capture motion though.
Matt C 605 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Spielberg says production on the sequel will start at the end of the year, aiming for a Christmas 2015 release.http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/175455-spielberg-hopes-next-tintin-film-is-out-christmas-2015 Not Mr. Big 1
Quintus 6,499 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Great news, but I really wish Spielberg would stick to directing duties.
indy4 160 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Don't really care about this movie, unless JW is scoring it.
Brónach 1,330 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 After seeing The Hobbit, I'm not sure PJ is the right man to direct Tintin 2.He is the expert for the capture motion though. He'll be shooting for the same time as Spielberg. We'll probably get something like Spielberg's take but with the scenes he would have deleted still in.
crocodile 9,724 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I hope John Williams is back. And that his music from the first film isn't being re-recorded during pickup sessions.Karol
Jay 46,244 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I could see James Newton Howard scoring this film
Luke Skywalker 2,385 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I hope jackson an Williams work toguether. It will be interesting. And i hope jackson does not break Williams 'never-rejected' record...
KK 3,313 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I'd like to hear Williams score a non-Spielberg film. Once and Smeltington 2
Brónach 1,330 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I'd like to hear JW scoring anything at all that isn't like Lincoln, at this point.
Jonesy 55 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I wonder if Shore and Jackson will work together in this film.
tannhauser 101 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 If Williams doesn't do it, Shore would be great. A better choice than JNH anyway. I think Desplat could do a good score too.
Jay 46,244 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I wouldn't be surprised if Shore never works with PJ again after The Hobbit EEs are all done Sharkissimo and Once 2
KK 3,313 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Neither would I.Korzeniowski would certainly be a great choice. My hopes are for Williams to return though.
Jay 46,244 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I truly hope Williams scores Tintin 2. However if he does not, the composers that come to my mind that would be mostly to create a score that is both great to listen to and would continue the spirit (and hopefully themes) of the first score would be:Abel KorzeniowskiConrad PopeChrispy BaconJames Newton HowardJohn Powell As much as I love Giacchino, he doesn't seem right to me for this project, even though he's knocked all his other animated film scores out of the park
Quintus 6,499 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I wouldn't be surprised if Shore never works with PJ again after The Hobbit EEs are all doneI get that feeling too.Anyway, Shore doesn't have the chops for a Tintin adventure. Can you imagine his action music? If I hear any more ascending brass bars I'll do my bloody nut.
