NEW Williams title coming from La-La Land Records June 16th 2015

It was actually quite annoying that they were able to license The Witches of Eastwick and Capricorn One from Warners because MV from LLL has stated they would have been able to issue an expanded score for Witches if they had gotten the license first, and a label could have done a definitive release of Capricorn One with both film tracks and LP Re-recording in the same package if they had gotten that one before Perseverance.

MV has posted this on the FSM message board:

I can say this right now:

Stanley and Iris is controlled by Varese in perp (I think Pressumed Innocent is as well)

Saving Private Ryan is so near complete it's not worth doing

JFK is pretty much complete. It was an odd score to record being that it wasn't scored to picture. It may happen some day, but I honestly do not know how to approach it.

How much music is there left from Sleepers? Tibet? Geisha? Enough to warrant an expanded release?

UME controls the JP scores. We tried but they didn't want to relinquish rights at the time.

On June 1 you will find out what it is

So, my bets are A.I., or Far and Away.

I just HOPE whatever it is, is complete and is not missing anything which I fear it will be the case due to the Williams involvement! :(

Another one bites the Varese dust (Stanley and Iris)

What are the chances of them EVER re-issuing that? 0%?

It would be magnificent to have a comprehensive and actually official release of A.I. And maybe even one with some sonic improvements.

is that OOP?

You can find it in reasonable prices at amazon.

I'm sure there's enough music from Memoirs of a Geisha, being unreleased music in the film, or alternates, to fill up a 2 cd set

well, there's a new one for almost $27 and I find that reasonable.

Varese should expand it to a complete and chronological presentation and sell it for $20!

But they never will!

EDIT:

Odd. There are actually 4 total listings for the S&I OST CD on Amazon US for some reason.

This guy's trying to sell a new copy for $131

And this guy for $42

Meanwhile, this listing is for an "import" is actually sold direct from Amazon, as is $15 with Prime shipping

This last one says "European LP pressing. Varese. 2014"

I don't understand.

Anyway..

I think that Stanley and Iris isn't missing anything. But I am not sure.

(unless there are alternates too that we don't know of)

By the way, I would love a Bluray of this.

It's a nice little simple film.

Yup.

Since MV just listed off so many possible candidates my bets are on A.I., The Patriot, Far and Away, (perhaps more impossibly) HPPS and Towering Inferno.

MV has posted that they cannot issue a new version of The Witches of Eastwick until Perseverance Records' OST re-issue sells out.

There is only one thing for it! We the JWFans must buy every single copy of it!
I bought one.
Did you not own it before?

All five would be welcome.

I don't think Potter is that impossible, though.

I still strongly believe that whoever will release Potter will do so in Winter, not Summer. Even if the release got delayed because of studio approval and was meant to be released in December 2014.

Williams was involved in LLL's expanded Empire of the Sun and it's pretty much complete.

Well, LLL released Turbulence in the middle of summer. And that was a friggin' Christmas score.

Nobody cares about Turbulence!

HP would be a huge release, hence it would be more logical to release it in November/December, when people are on their Christmas shopping spree!

Well he obviously has his favourites which he allows to be released in full and is curiously abashed about some of his biggest hits and doesn't give his approval for complete release.

A.I. has a comprehensive bootleg with terrific audio quality floating around ("Academy Promo", they call it...).

Towering Inferno had a recent iTunes release of the LP program.

I'd rule those out too.

Academy Promo doesn't count as a release.

And none of the Rhino re-pressing (re-releases) prevented expanded albums from coming out. In some cases, they came out within months (like Poltergeist, for example)..

I didn't say the Academy Promo was a release. I meant that it may prevent an OFICIALLY comprehensive release from happening, pretty much like the recording sessions from Schindler's List could prevent an oficially expanded release the same way. And both sound great, too...

As for Towering Inferno, I also didn't say it well prevent a newly expanded album to come out. I meant that it won't be happening so soon... ;)

Well it would seem the only WB title available when all those others are ruled out. Something I certainly wouldn't mind. :)

well, Hook isn't.

By the way, someone mentioned at FSM Amistad.

This could be a contender too.

Now that I think of it, I also believe that it might be a Spielberg-Williams collaboration, thus the long time to get all approvals.

Empire of the Sun isn't complete. It's missing the 5 second film version opening of Cadillac of the Skies! Oh, the humanity!

I can't check right now but if I remember correctly it's something involving mainly a harp?

Yes - It's "12m3 Lead In" in the sheets. 4 bars long, and the only instruments called for are flute, clarinet, vibraphone, harp, and violin/viola.

And I was wrong about it being 5 seconds long - its more like 3 seconds :)

I wish it had been included as an Easter Egg after the final track, or something :(

It's from 1.03-1.07 (though i don't hear the wws melody)

I guess they must have forgot about it.

I don't think it would be a rights issue or a Williams denial, for such a short cue..
