Jay 43,082 Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 That is not a fan-made cover, it's the real deal.
MissPadmé 17 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Well of course either the Album re-issue or the Ultimate Edition Re-issue.Where is this from?
Ricard 2,381 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Well of course either the Album re-issue or the Ultimate Edition Re-issue.Where is this from?Of course?
MissPadmé 17 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Yes - knowing Lucasfilm/Sony as we do., don't see the reason why they would suddenly choose to sell complete Soundtracks as a movie tie in..ohh, and don't forget the 3D Covers.. yeah..!
Ricard 2,381 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Assuming that that cover is actually "the real deal"...
MissPadmé 17 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 There is no point for me to assume anything anymore..well if you and Jason know something, why not just tell us? Or even better, please post the backcover not the ugly frontcover, because that one might even include a tracklistEDIT-- wait a minute, It wouldn't make sense for Jason to post a hoax, and I suppose the JWFAN-Sony Classical connection is growing (regarding promo-stuff) so if you mean with real-deal the "Complete unedited score for Star Wars Ep1 produced by someone like Matessino" call me exited!
Director of Poltergeist 8,222 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 That's certainly the worst JW soundtrack cover ever.
MissPadmé 17 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 That is true.. but wait: What if the 3D on the cover actually means "3 Discs"..!? ..
Ricard 2,381 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 well if you and Jason know something, why not just tell us?I know absolutely nothing.
MissPadmé 17 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 alright, then I shall ask no further questions
Not Mr. Big 4,835 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Maybe the 3D means it'll be in surround sound. That'd be p.neat.
MissPadmé 17 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Yeees.. or this will be a the 3D upconverted Recording Session footage of Williams conducting the LSO in 1999?
Little Ghost 7,993 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Maybe it means Star Wars TPM in 3D!
Muad'Dib 1,954 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Guys, guys...It's obvious that Williams completely rescored the film -as he originally intended it to sound- and now they're selling this new album which contains all new music!
Jay 43,082 Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 Just got word it's a straight re-issue of the OST and not a properly expanded set
Director of Poltergeist 8,222 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 That's...the worst possible scenario.Everyone email them.
King Mark 3,848 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 what else did you expect from Sony Classical? I didn't have my hopes up for a millisecondlet this thread die quickly
Trent B 348 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Just got word it's a straight re-issue of the OST and not a properly expanded set How lame can Sony be? Sony official sucks when it comes to anything Star Wars related. Let Intrada or LLL take a crack at the Star Wars music, I bet they'd get it right! This would have been the perfect opportunity to release the intended score but instead we get a re-issue of the OST? That is seriously lame, especially since the OST is still readily available!
Director of Poltergeist 8,222 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Is this what we can expect to see in stores in a month's time, repackaged unsold merchandise from 1999? I heard Hasbro is also reselling toys from that era.
Admiral Holdo 16 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 They may not see it as a profitable venture (yeah, Star Wars may sell, but enough to justify the cost of expansion?).But even still... pretty lame.
King Mark 3,848 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Well screw them We have most of the prequel scores anyways
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,079 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Cool. Any news if it has been remastered?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,079 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I'd love to own the OST of Phantom Menace in stellar sound quality.
Richard P 4,821 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Just got word it's a straight re-issue of the OST and not a properly expanded set And the original pressing is still widely available! They're just trying to get people to buy it twice by slapping '3D' on the cover.Mehhhh.
Little Ghost 7,993 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 maybe it will have new liner notes...
OneBuckFilms 461 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 maybe it will have new liner notes...Or a "Special Edition 3D Poster" and a pair of red/blue 3D glasses to view it with.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,079 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Collectible 3D cards.
Director of Poltergeist 8,222 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 That's definitely the worst Star Wars poster ever.
Little Ghost 7,993 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 The background is awful (the grey death star trench half messed up blacks from overexposure crap)
Director of Poltergeist 8,222 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Forget the Death Star grid in the background (?) and the fact that it's all Photoshopped. Why the hell is Darth Maul the focus? He's barely in the movie. It'd be like making Jaws the focus of the poster for The Spy Who Loved Me.
Little Ghost 7,993 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Or like Boba Fett in ESB's, or Jabba/Palpatine in ROTJ.
Luke Skywalker 2,223 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 UM how is that i hadnt seen this thread before?Jason, did you find this cover in a spanish site?december 28th is the april's fools day here...At first i thought that it was Ricard's doing... but seeing that it has not been debunked yet..so is this crap the real deal? And it is the UE or the OST???If its the UE...maybe they will release the UE for AOTC and ROTS...
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,079 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Maul is the focus because he is cool, while Anakin and Jarjar are not!
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Duh. Because he's the thing everyone liked most. Even people who hated it said Maul kicked ass.
Little Ghost 7,993 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Then it should have just had him and the words John Williams on the front.
BLUMENKOHL 1,087 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Darth Maul was the best part TPM. The only villain in Star Wars who didn't drop the passing of the torch from the Vader of the original trilogy. And he worked incredibly well because of the air of mystery around him. How do you cook up a another Vader? You move most of the villain into the brain of your audience. Make him more or less a figment of the audience's imagination. None of that Dooku/Grievous/Palpapoo crap. Hell he should be the only thing on the damned poster!
KK 3,310 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 What is the point of this?! Couldn't they freakin make more money by including unreleased music? Why would people want to buy the same product with a more horrifying cover!?But this is to be expected I suppose...
King Mark 3,848 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 This soundtrack only works with special 3D headphones (sold separately)
KK 3,310 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Comes with a remastered CD that can only be played on Sony's latest 3D speakers (sold separately). Watch Hear the music come alive!
