The only thing Plagious was truly afraid of was losing his hair. Which eventually of course he did. Ironic, he could save the hair of those he cared about, but not his own.

They certainly rely on his music for all their interludes!

I always do scans when I share so yes!

Though it probably won't happen I'd love to see Star Wars pass Avatar in the world wide box office. I never liked Avatar.

Personally, I think the Resistance should work every month, not just March.

I'm really pleased with the broader selection of music. There are a lot of very specific cues, and judging by the digital versions, the transcriptions are very accurate. I'll have really good hours at the piano with this book!

The FYC is in LA right now, with estimated delivery date between the 15th and the 22nd! So exciting.

Williams is always kind and diplomatic about other composers' work. The only time I remembered he declared having a preference of one over the other was an interview, a couple of years ago, when he said he liked to return to a more essential musical idiom, and that he enjoyed studying a Mozart work over, for example, an Elliott Carter opera.

Seems like many selections made available, as opposed to the slim offerings made in the past, especially with the prequel scores.

There will be a perfect flac rip because I am going to make one and share it as I intended to from the start. 

Well, despite my position, I have a limited info, but it was kind of a perfect storm. We're part of consortium of bands that will be premiering some of this music over the next few months. It was always the plan to release the music, which is why some of it was done, but pulling off this early had a bit of knowing the right people and the context. With the Midwest Clinic being the venue and Hal Leonard being present at the conference, the fact we were hosting a "Film Music in Concert Setting" with Tim Simonec on the day of the premiere seemed to make everything click. I know the 16 DEC performances (with much higher attendance and visibility) was denied for premiering the music. But last tune on a film music program the day of premiere worked out...

I should add that it is easier to speak of this in a past tense, because any time before 17 DEC, I would of told you none of this was happening (and even then, it was quite possible it wouldn't despite having the music).
You'll be able to look forward to the Marine Band putting a bit more of this music sometime in the spring

It wasn't a super-tight schedule but he wrote the whole score in a little more than four weeks. here's a quote from an old interview (taken from the "Making of the Empire Strikes Back" book published in 1980)
 
 
We know that the score ended up being recorded in late December, so JW wrote the whole score between mid-November and end of December, i.e. 4 to 5 weeks.
