An irrelevant detail. It's not like audiences watching the film needed to understand why a character who died 3 films earlier was suddenly alive.
 
I'm so glad JJ wisely omitted these unnecessary details so we could spend more time discovering the tragic backstory of characters like Jannah™, considering her importance in the narrative and the inspiring payoff her character arc receives.

Let's face it, three of his six films range from terrible to mediocre, while another was saved in the editing room by other, far more competent filmmakers.
 
He also ruined his two best films with needless CGI revisionism.

I am not saying the ST has the best themes of the SW trilogies, but that the themes get the most variation, development, and trans-movie coherence.  Kylo's theme gets the proper development that Anakin's theme never did, the MotR gets all sorts of awesome variations, Rey's thematic permutations are top-notch (other than the force theme, it probably undergoes the most variations of all the SW themes).  
 
Ultimately, though, I am splitting hairs, all three SW trilogies are superb in analogous ways.  TFA, TLJ, TROS feel like one long score to me, whereas the prequels feel standalone to each movie.  The OT splits the difference--the musical contrast between ANH and ESB is quite stark (though, again, both awesome).  

Everything in it, the new themes are gorgeous, little bit softer style than in(brilliant) TLJ, wonderful orchestrations and performance by the orchestra. Great closing for a great decade!! Love this man. 

Obviously Powell is the best choice as heir apparent to Williams. He's done it with one franchise, bearing fantastic results, and he seems to have a continuing friendship with the Maestro too. Plus, just thinking about what he could do with the Raiders March, for example, gives me chills.

GOOD NEWS! I happened to be browsing the Apple TV app on my Mac, and I pre-ordered Star Wars, Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. You can preview the digital menu, and the music cue that plays is Rey's Training! It is not the entire cue, but it is a good 46 seconds of the cue from the rendition of Rey's Theme to the statement of The Imperial March. This may be what will be on the Blu-Ray menu as well.
 
Also, the featurette on the Maestro is 11 minutes and four seconds long!

I like the information crumbs provided and I love the attitude that was provided with it. 

How could any JW fan not be disappointed by the treatment of his scores at JJ's hands? Certainly not taking it personally, I just have little respect for the film or decisions JJ made.
 
IMO he suffocated what should have been a grand exit from Williams, both by allowing the score to be undermixed (again) and changing the edit so thoroughly that it made Williams' musical intent incoherent. I thought AOTC was a series low with music editing but the majority was faithful to his intent. TROS is on another level, copy + pasting (and cutting, in the case of Speeder Chase) the score like a pre-schooler haphazardly glueing macaroni to cardboard.
 
My "attitude" is simply borne out of disappointment from the treatment of Williams' music. It deserved so much better for the final outing. 

Why does everyone keep referring to a "film version" of the Speeder Chase when it's clearly just a butchered mess of multiple cues, hacked to pieces after a certain indecisive twat couldn't stop tampering with his embarrassment of a movie?

So please stop referring to some fabled film version of the chase sequence. Williams scored the sequence and placed his intended music on the OST. Sadly, his intentions were binned when "someone" preferred Falcon Flight and decided to track it all over the movie. There is no "film version" of the Speeder Chase, any more than there's a "film version" of Snowspeeders Take Flight from ESB.

Just listened to some FotR again after months. I was beginning to really like JW's Rise Of Skywalker, then I heard this again, and... No chance. Not even close, actually. 
You wouldn't even realize LotR was written to a picture if you didn't know it.

I don't know how any sane person could put Johnson's treatment of JW's Last Jedi in the same category as Abrams' two hatchet jobs.

For all the shit that's heaped upon this trilogy, I absolutely love the main cast. In all the interviews they do, post on social media etc. they seem like great friends and genuinely good people.
