I'll happily admit that NXNW is my all time favourite Hitchcock film, but so many of his films have either great artistic or great technical merit, or both. There's always something interesting in a Hitchcock film.

Well, it's more than a classic. Vertigo managed to dethrone Citizen Kane as the best movie of all time after the latter held that spot for 50 years.

(damn, I didn't see Richard's post, it was on the next page)

Oh, yeah! It's far superior. It's not only a great Bond film, its a good cold war thriller, in its own right.

Both Dalton films are among my very favourite Bond films. He's my favourite Bond, as well.

That's the idea. It's not wallpaper, like so much film music, these days. It actually plays a major role in the film, representing both simian society, and Taylor's rage at things that he just doesn't understand.
On disc, yes it is a difficult listen, but (and again) it's a score that is designed to be sat down and listened to. Repeated listenings reveal a monumentally competent, and complex piece of work. It's Jerry's masterpiece.

For the record, FRWT is, all things considered, the best Bond film ever made.

Heh, yes ... John Barry's old London flat. A nice little 'nod' that, and yet another example of why Skyfall is a far superior anniversary-marking Bond film than Die Another Day.

It's one of movie music's great tunes. And Goodwin did a great rework of all the scores with the Odense Symphony - why a danish orchestra beats me but they do a great job.

That's "Dr. No by Monty Norman, and John Barry", if you please, young sir.

Audiences laughed out loud at original screenings, at the music "stabs" that accompanied Bond killing the spider with his shoe.

This is again the pits of race-baiting pandering bs.

It's an empty switcheroo because a black woman is 007 for all of 5 minutes before James Bond comes along and takes over the mantel again.

They do not get credit for this.

If they truly have balls, they will make the black woman the 007 for the entire film and focus the film around her.

It's the same deal as Marvel giving Cap's shield to a black man at the end of the Avengers. They do not get credit for this. I will buy it only when they make a major big budget motion picture with mackie as Cap. A TV show doesn't quite cut it.

The degree to which the public falls for such cheap ploys is nauseating.

How come '007' wasn't reallocated in Skyfall, when they thought he was dead? They cleared out and sold his flat, after all ...
