(Boy I'm posting too much here...)Apparently, the guys from Joann Kane Music Service have been hired to copy the JW score for Tintin. Link:http://www.joannkanemusic.com/ (Check the "Recent clients and projects" section)To be honest, I don't fully understand why Willy needs these guys. Anyone care to explain? Wojo 2,453
I don't understand that track list, Charlie. Are there really that many new scenes added in the latest redux version of Star Wars? Or is it how you anticipate Lucas to eff with it again for the BR?

It's sort of half based on deleted scenes and stuff from the NPR play, along with a natural evolution of the way George is going with "finishing his film". Link:http://www.joannkanemusic.com/ (Check the "Recent clients and projects" section)To be honest, I don't fully understand why Willy needs these guys. Anyone care to explain? And has he worked with this people before? Just curious Oh yes, Williams has been a client of theirs for a while. They're credited as early as TOD. The process generally goes like this, as far as I know: Williams writes out a detailed sketch of a cue, an orchestrator (such as Conrad Pope or Eddie Karam) writes out a full conductor's score by hand, and then copyists such as the ones at JoAnn Kane Music Services will create professional-looking sheet music with software like Finale. No sense in John Williams doing all that himself - it'd take forever, and the only part that really determines how the music sounds is the sketch he does. Everything after that is still crucial, but only because it makes it logistically possible for the orchestra to play the music John has already created. These jobs require a lot of skill and training, but they don't take the kind of individual compositional flair that Williams has.

Romão 2,274
I'm really curious now. The CGI work looks immensely detailed, whereas Tintin's face in the comics has a very simples and streamlined design. They can't keep such a simple face design with a body as detailed as it looks to be in the pictures, so I'm really curious about the look of Tintin's face
Charlie Brigden 7
I'm assuming #2 is Snowy. Which is crazy, as it just looks like they took a photo of a real dog.

Muad'Dib 1,802
My thoughts exactly ! If they keep Tintin's face as it is in the comics, this is going to be weird. So far, the pictures we've got look photorealistic. Don't know how you can make Tintin's face look photorealistic... Earerly waiting for the final picture! Are they going to release the complete picture eventually or not?

Datameister 2,044
Lookin' good. Let's keep in mind, though, that it's a lot easier to create a gorgeous, photorealistic render of a single frame than to create an animation that retains the same sort of photorealism. It's usually the motion that kills it these days - and of course, certain minor compromises have to be made in order for all the frames to render in a somewhat timely fashion. Muad'Dib 1,802
I have two small theories about the score. The first one is the most realistic...- We'll hear some original music in the teaser.- John will perform the main theme on the November 9th as part of the promotion of the film.We NEED to hear something! And seeing those images I would feel very inspired if I was a composer.
Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
It will be nice to have a new JW score, even if it's nothing too remarkable. But I still can't get excited for this.
Datameister 2,044
Yeah, I'm not especially optimistic. I have no doubt that the score will showcase the incredible level of technical mastery and harmonic complexity that we expect from Williams, but I don't think I'm going to especially like the score. I'll certainly give it a chance, though. I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
mrbellamy 6,298
At this point, I'm automatically excited about a new John Williams score, no matter what he's working on. I know nothing about TinTin and I'm not real crazy about that CGI motion-capture stuff, but the man's semi-retired and he can't have very many scores left in him. If he was coming out with something new every year, I probably wouldn't be going too nuts with anticipation, but since it's been over two years since his last film score (and almost five since he put one out with 100% new material), I'm very eagerly awaiting this. Charlie Brigden 7
I think it's the background, as it's similar to that in the latest picture. I'm more puzzled by four and five, which I assumed were parts of Captain Haddock.

Brónach 1,302
I can't believe I saw Milou's tail last night! As a fan of the comics since I was a kid I'm so excited. Spielberg is the perfect director for this.I'm curious how the eyes of the characters will look. The original artwork usually used simple dots (wich were really cool). Jackson's idea for going this animated route must be quite good if it changed Spielberg's mind about shooting it live action (which I don't thing would have really worked). The thing that's really bothering me is the apparent absence of Professor Tournesol, which makes me wonder if they are actually adapting the Unicorn story arch or it's more of a free adaptation. Muad'Dib 1,802
Looks really fantastic! I guess Conrad Pope was right about going to be a classic! And about Calculus... As far as I know they haven't casted anyone for that role, but I think they casted someone big and they want to keep it secret as they have announced everyone else from the cast. Rowan Atkninson or John Cleese would be perfect for the role!
