RuBen_Kenobi 19
I don´t know about the movie. I like the first Matrix but hated the sequels, don´t care much about Speed Racer and liked Cloud Atlas, but I can´t fu%$´ wait for the score. Giacchino in BIG fantasy mode? . And the music in the trailer sounds promising.I really like John Carter, (great fantasy movie, "old school" adventure one) and the score (probably Giaccho masterpiece). It´s sad that we are not going to have sequels .Today we have another new trailer for a scifi movie "Edge of Tomorrow" (also Warner and Village Roadshow like Jupiter):http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=112233Damn I like Tom Cruise as an action hero (love his last ones: MI4, Oblivion and Jacke Reacher and this one looks great too). The soundtrack is by the "loved" here Ramin Dwajadi . He is no Giacchino but it could be fun, I really like his Pacific Rim.
Jay 37,441
I really like Pacific Rim too, and am warming up to his Game of Thrones music, but had never remotely liked anything he has done otherwise
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Steef, I think you would like John Carter actually (the film I mean). It gets the Neil Bulk (Who?) seal of approval as well.I'll get to it, eventually. I'm not really much into sci-fi or fantasy really.
RuBen_Kenobi 19
I really like Pacific Rim too, and am warming up to his Game of Thrones music, but had never remotely liked anything he has done otherwiseHas GOT more good music than the great main theme?? . I´m a fan of the books and the series but I find the music very bland besides the main titles. I know that it gets better specially in the 3rd season but could you imagine GOT with Giacchino music?? .
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Season 3 has a couple of standout cues. Overall it's still very obvious and predictable Zimmer clone scoring.
Jay 37,441
Seasons 1 and 2 of GOT had nothing I remotely took notice of whatsoever. While watching Season 3 I heard a few cues I really liked, and they hold up on the CD presentation (which is a CD I never really listen to all the way through, but the standout cues are great)

Matt C 456
WB has pushed Jupiter Ascending up a week to July 18. I think the last time one composer had two scores come out in one week was Williams' The Adventures of Tintin and then War Horse in December 2011. nightscape94 965
I have to watch the trailers because I have no desire to see it otherwise. Dixon Hill 4,234
I'm weird about trailers. I watch them only for things I actively want to see, despite the risk of being spoiled (I'm not very bothered by that anyway), but I avoid them for things I have zero or passing interest in. Those, at least, I don't know anything about from the start since I have no interest in them and don't follow them, so if I end up seeing them, I'd rather go in totally blind.I'm sure that's a completely nonsensical policy. Koray Savas 2,251
Sort of, it's usually the opposite. I watch trailers for stuff I've never heard of and sound interesting, and typically avoid them for stuff I know I'm going to see.

Maybe Giacchino should stay away from movies with planets.I certainly don't need the track title "And Here Is Uranus".Disney hit gold with Alice in Wonderland being released in March two years prior, I don't blame the studio for doing the same with John Carter. Problem with John Carter was the novice director and sky-high budget.Frankly, I'm surprised WB waited until the eleventh hour to push Jupiter Ascending to February 2015. But this summer's been tough on them (apart from Godzilla), and maybe they think something like this may do better in a less-competitive month.
