He's good. But I feel he's brought nothing fresh to the role since Casino Royale. That's his best performance. And after that, I don't think the material has ever leaned on him that heavily. I'd argue Dench and Bardem carried Skyfall which is his most critically acclaimed film. Those were the 2 getting award nominations for Skyfall whereas he was the one who got nominations for Casino Royale. So yeah, he offered nothing new after CR. crumbs 14,316
I really hope David Arnold's agent is earning their money right now, campaigning for him to get back in the franchise. I think Newman's said everything he had to say with his two scores (fortunately Mendes is out of the equation) and Arnold is clearly the best placed composer to take on the job. Make it happen, Broccoli!

Make it happen, Broccoli! Didn't Arnold only not do Skyfall and Spectre because Mendes specifically wanted Newman? You'd think they'd love to have him back, as the 'modern original' Bond composer. Depends whether they're trying to move things on, creatively.

Given how 007's previous attempts at a 'settled' life turned out and the fact that music from OHMSS was used during yesterday's live stream, I'd say it doesn't look good for her. I like how Fukunaga is very careful to say NEXT chapter here and not FINAL chapter. Quote “Daniel is my favourite Bond,” the director said. “I want to continue that. I want to make sure this run of films which have been fantastic have a really great next chapter.” The eyes....the eyes....they haunt my nightmares....
