What is your favorite end credits song from the LOTR and Hobbit films?

My personal favorite is "Into The West". Such a perfect song to conclude the Middle-earth saga. A sad, yet hopeful piece masterfully performed by Annie Lennox.

Ye gods, in what world is May It Be anything less than the most beautiful transition from a grand cinematic experience back into reality?  Is it an age thing?   1) May It Be/Into The West

1. Gollum's Song 2. Song of the Lonely Mountain 3. May it Be 4. The Last Goodbye 5. Into the West 6. I See Fire

YA YA YA YA

"Gollum's Song" is the best one.

But "Into the West" has been known to bring me to tears, which is to be expected when it's carrying the weight of such finality.

I would rank them

1. Into The West  (Manly tears of manlyness)

2. Gollum's Song (Strong lyrics, beautiful vocals, great melody)

3. The Last Goodbye (A pretty heartwarming sendoff sang by an actual cast member)

4. In Dreams (way better than May It Be, but nothing too special)

5. The Song of the Lonely Mountain (It's unfitting, but an enjoyable song nonetheless)

6. I See Fire  (Unfitting, bland, too "pop"-ish)

7. May It Be  (I just can't stand Enya's half-whispering, I could never make out the lyrics, the melody is not memorable at all)

What hipster here is going to answer "Use Well the Days?"

1.  "Into the West"

2.  "In Dreams"

3.  "Gollum's Song"

4.  "I See Fire"

5.  "May It Be"

6.  "The Last Goodbye"

DNF. Song of the Lonely Mountain.  Yeah yeah yeah yeah?  No no no no.

It's a shame Shore wasn't involved on the last two Hobbit songs.  "I See Fire" is a damn good song as it is, but I think it could've been something really special if it fit better into the Middle-Earth sound.  @TheGreyPilgrim's intro is a great teaser for what could have been.

I'd worry about the mental faculty of anyone who calls I See Fire "a damn good song".

I certainly would say it's a pretty great song. It doesn't quite have that Middle-earth feel to it, but that doesn't necessarily make it bad. Besides, it's Ed Sheeran.

An Ed Sheeran song makes it automatically bad.

He managed to write an even shittier song than normal here too
