filmmusic 1,855
Thought of this little game. I name a film composer, and you reply with what you think personally it is his/her masterpiece (along with another composer for the next member to reply and so on) RULES: Onle ONE score please. That makes the game hard, I know. This would be a way for me (or other members) to discover many scores that I haven't listened to or didn't give much attention to and are considered great by the community. Of course, a composer can be repeated by someone else. So, I start: Danny Elfman
Disco Stu 15,495
@filmmusic I'm not sure you'll make a lot of new discoveries if the rule is "name their ONE single masterpiece if you had to choose one." There are Elfman scores I consider overlooked and underrated, for example, but if forced to choose a single masterpiece it will unsurprisingly be a more well-known one. 6 minutes ago, filmmusic said: Danny Elfman Batman Returns Thomas Newman filmmusic and OneBuckFilms 1

I suggest the remastered Batman OST that appears on the boxset, you'll get the complete score of Batman Return which is, also a point of entry in the world of Danny Elfman. 1 hour ago, Disco Stu said: Thomas Newman The Shawskank Redemption, the OST, even if the expanded score is a must too. 33 minutes ago, Thor said: Michael Kamen I discovered The Iron Giant recently, and I must say that this is quite a score! The Deluxe Version, you can reconstitute a version of the OST with it. 28 minutes ago, filmmusic said: John Williams I would talk about E.T. OST. The remastering of the complete score was a big thing in the last years, but we have not to forget the OST, which is a special album mainly made of Suites, compared to the film score. The remastered version that came out on the latest expansion.
