that back cover does not feature the track titles of disc 2

I suppose that they may be in the inside. (the other side of the back cover)

Speed racer is there too:

HERE

The full tracklist for disc 2 is further down the page.

And it has no less than eight tracks from Greatest Hits as well!

I'm so excited for this release.

Screw Indy IV!

This Lost album is going to be awesome. To think I went from thinking there'd be nothing at all, to two discs with comprehensive cues from the final two episodes! And I'll get to hear Dharmacide (brilliant title!) and probably that introduction to Juliet's theme (in Oceans Apart, I think) - the best part of a poor episode, when they return from Hydra to the mainland.

And I expect Speed Racer to be a slightly brighter take on his MI:3 style, but I'll probably be treated to something suprising and pretty original. Ahh, Giacchino, you don-daddy!

As much as I like the score to Lost, they've never been great album experiences stretched out over one long disc so two discs is really surprising to me. I've tended to have a handful of tracks that I revisit a lot from each season with a lot of the music being more interesting in the context of the story than on its own, IMO. Still, its good to have more to choose from and Season 3 does have a lot of good stuff from what I remember. I hope it has Giacchino's orchestral version of the radio song from when they're driving around the island.

I'm anxious to have Speed Racer as well. His film scores seem to have that extra level of care and detail - no doubt because the television series has such a ridiculously tight schedule where he's scoring an entire episode in a few days.

I'm hoping the music from Exposé is on there. The faux TV-show score part I mean. Could it be track 23 of disc 1 (Sweet Exposé)?

Razzledazzle!

Oh yeah! I forgot all about that. I hope so too. I really liked that episode as well, quite off-beat.

Here one can listen to a whole bunch of Speed Racer's music. Not bad, I think. Sometimes very cartoony, though, but nice overall.

Cool.

Giacchino used the cartoon theme. ;) the guy is always respectful with previous material

EDIT: the music is very cool. Congrats to Giacchino ;)

I still haven't finished listening to it.

There's a real nice villain theme that's introduced around halfway through

I think there's more here than what'll be put on the CD

Some real great stuff in there

I dont think so, but just in case somebody record it!

Yes there is. There is close to 2 hours of music available in that stream. The album isn't two hours long.

Wow 1 hour 59 minutes

amazing. This is as music companies should do (well only the unreleased (from OST) bits would be enough) and not having to 'steal' bootlegs. Or at least like Casino Royale and put the unreleased bits on itunes.

Now if they did this on Indy IV i would crap in my pants.

I was thinking they were going to do something like the ridiculous Star Spangled Banner recording that happened on the first MoH album

Considering I live in M.D.

No.

I wish I lived there though, that would be awesome.

As for these 2 hours of Speed Racer, Download Helper isn't being very helpful! ROTFLMAO The score sounds good though, you can definitely hear that Giacchino sound.

EDIT: O.K. I have all the music downloaded. Only problem is that it's in .flv format. I have no idea what this is, but if someone can help me out so I can get this converted to mp3, we can have our own expanded score! ROTFLMAO

We'll be able to compare to the album cues soon enough.

I don't think Speed Racer represents Giacchino's best; it certainly has his style (I like the percussion and use of bass guitar) but it's not him pushing his abilities as much as some of his more recent work. The cartoony nature of the film probably didn't call for the complex orchestrations of, say MI:3, so the music doesn't stand too far from the bright and colourful imagery. I look forward to hearing it all in context though, I bet it carries the moods well.

yeah, but track names and time would help to know where to split.

And i would prefer to have Giacchino's tracknames than ones i have to create.

Did anyone record this?

Unfortunately I can't fast forward the music.

So, when I heard the ALIAS quote about 3/4 through, I wanted to get back a few seconds, but now i have to get through all music again.

I'll try to record it soon. Anybody who has might cut up the distinct tracks and compare their lengths to the album list on the Varese website. That'll give you some track names, but it's unlikely we'll ever have Giacchino's names for all two hours of this music.

I was thinking they were going to do something like the ridiculous Star Spangled Banner recording that happened on the first MoH album

It wasn't ridiculous. It was Michael's mother conducting the orchestra. It's something she wanted to do her whole life and Michael thought it would be fun bonus to have on the album. Just like on future releases we get the silly but HILARIOUS Donkey Serenade... and what about the Belgian Navy Song on SWON. It's Michael having a bit of fun!

By ridiculous, I was referring to the brass getting 2 beats ahead of the rest of the orchestra. Didn't mean it to be a slight on Mrs Giacchino. Probably should've used a different word than ridiculous as well.

Not unless some poor bastard sits thru the film several times.

Just finished listening to the score and its definitely a Giacchino score. I like the comical moments and he definitely does a good job of incorporating the theme even though I wished he would have used it a little more.

Yes, and the Belgian Navy Song appears at the end of Mercenaries as well, doesn't it? ;)

Apparently Target will have an exclusive deluxe edition of Cloverfield that comes with a music cd with songs from the film - no word on if Roar! is included on the disc.

With lyrics. On SWON there are none as they didn't have the extra time with the choir to record.... so, they did it during the Merc sessions and added it to the end of that CD.
