Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,261 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Hell yeah, Randy on synths! The guy shreds.
Lewya 361 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 More players!And pictures - Not Mr. Big and Muad'Dib 2
The Psycho Pianist 220 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 What else has he done? Harry Potter 1 celeste parts for just for starters!
Not Mr. Big 4,837 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 What else has he done?Harry Potter 1 celeste parts for just for starters!Ah yes, Randy Kerber, how'd I forget!I wonder if Jim Self will give a report on the music like he did for War Horse...
Cerebral Cortex 3,362 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 God, I hope so. At the very least, I'd be interested in hearing tidbits as to what themes have been reprised.
Lewya 361 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I just asked a player if he could share some info, describe the music or tell us about the themes. I doubt I will even get a reply but it was worth a try.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,082 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I just asked a player if he could share some info, describe the music or tell us about the themes. I doubt I will even get a reply but it was worth a try.NDA man! N...D....A!
Not Mr. Big 4,837 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 From JoAnn Kane...https://twitter.com/JKMSlibrary/status/606306051349082112Getting ready for day 2. #starwars #JohnWilliams
karelm 3,217 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 This is pretty freaking cool! Amazing line up of players!
Incanus 5,858 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Very cool and exciting! And yes the orchestra seems to be full of amazing players.
Muad'Dib 1,954 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Have all these musicians played with Williams before?
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,261 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Does it matter? They lack versatility either way. Just look at the poor quality of those photos. The LSO would probably appear in a much higher resolution! Bilbo 1
Incanus 5,858 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 But where is James Thatcher from the horn section? He is my favourite and often has been the horn soloist in JWs scores.
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,261 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Well, 7 horns is a strange number... never fear, an eighth may be lurking somewhere.
Giftheck 1,122 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Is that a taiko in one of those pictures? Wonder what we'll be hearing from it.
Not Mr. Big 4,837 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 The extensive percussion and lack of any string section seems to indicate that they're recording an action cue
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,261 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Who says there are no strings? You can see some in the last picture.I think we should debate it for eight pages.
Not Mr. Big 4,837 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Nevermind, a see some string players in the backround.Still think it's an action cue.
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,261 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 No, it's clearly a love theme. Star Wars' first, actually. Arpy 1
Lady Dimitrescu 10,079 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Does it matter? They lack versatility either way. Just look at the poor quality of those photos. The LSO would probably appear in a much higher resolution!I know, eh? These poorly composed shots are a disgrace!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,082 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 The LSO would have have pics shot with an anamorphic lense!
jocores 98 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Conspiracy comment.. I don't see John Williams in the photos? Is he really the conductor?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,082 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Well 12 days ago JW wasn't able to perform in Boston due to back issues. So it's possible that a "ghost conductor" use used for this first round of sessions
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,082 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 JW has a history of back issues
Lady Dimitrescu 10,079 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Must have got a hernia from trying to lift a CRT TV.
Jay 43,118 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Love thishttps://twitter.com/JKMSlibrary/status/606306051349082112
rpvee 973 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Those pictures are 16:9 and low res, which makes me think they may be screencaps from a video.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,082 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Many Bothans died to bring us these pictures!
Luke Skywalker 2,225 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Conspiracy comment.. I don't see John Williams in the photos? Is he really the conductor?I can picture conrad Pope saving the day...
Thor 9,312 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 JW has a history of back issuesHe does. He was "out" with back issues for the entirety of 1988, although he thankfully DID compose a few things that year.Even if there is no John, there is still a Williams in these pics. His younger brother Don (who's so much younger that he's about the same age of my own father) can be glimpsed with his back against the camera on a number of the photos, among the percussion instruments.
nightscape94 967 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Does it matter? They lack versatility either way. Just look at the poor quality of those photos. The LSO would probably appear in a much higher resolution!I know, eh? These poorly composed shots are a disgrace!Poorly composed shots = poorly composed music? They're trying to send us subtle hints! We're doomed!
Thor 9,312 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 You guys have to stop worrying so much. He's an old guy, he has a history of back issues, he does things in his own tempo. Deal with it!
Lewya 361 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Love thishttps://twitter.com/JKMSlibrary/status/606306051349082112They have deleted that tweet now
Muad'Dib 1,954 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 This obviously means he has been rejected! Everybody panic!!!
KK 3,310 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 That confirms it. Thomas Coolman is scoring Star Wars!!
Director of Poltergeist 8,228 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 That Tweet was Tweeted in Rancho Palos Verdes, right up the street from where I live. So they have the score locally?
publicist 4,648 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 That Tweet was Tweeted in Rancho Palos Verdes, right up the street from where I live. So they have the score locally?Go for it!
Incanus 5,858 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I would suggest "March of the Villains" or "Superfeats" from Superman or "Gimbel's Robbery" from Fitzwilly as the proper background music on your iPod when you go. To set up the mood you know. For a slightly more intense experience "Pre-Crime to the Rescue".
Thor 9,312 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Why did they delete that tweet? Looks perfectly innocent. It's not like it's revealing anything about the music or whatever.
