nightscape94 967 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Poster, along with other goodies, will probably come out at SDCC.
Lady Dimitrescu 9,918 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Can't be as exciting as the new Independence Day 2 teaser poster!
nightscape94 967 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 They'll have to release a poster with a giant light saber attacking Jakku!
Incanus 5,858 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Well I can't take the name Jakku seriously. It means a women's blazer in Finnish.
Balahkay 629 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Any updates on the recording schedule and how much has been recorded thus far?
King Mark 3,834 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 who cares, we have to decide the composer for the next episodes when JW dies
Not Mr. Big 4,818 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Any updates on the recording schedule and how much has been recorded thus far?Nope, if the leaks were true (which they almost definitely are) then one could assume that stricter regulations would have been enforced to prevent another leak.
Popular Post Balahkay 629 Posted July 1, 2015 Popular Post Posted July 1, 2015 Ah, that's a good point. Photos of the supposed sessions were removed, too... if that's further indication.I'm optimistic Williams will score the following episodes! Keep the positive energy flowing! karelm, Bayesian, Not Mr. Big and 1 other 4

Keep the positive energy flowing!Yeah, we could use a little positive energy around here. Especially after the news about James Horner... Besides, there's no point being negative while we still have Williams with us. karelm 1
Alex 2,939 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 As long as JW is able to write music, I see no reason why he wouldn't do the next two. He may not conduct the recording sessions though.
Cerebral Cortex 3,362 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 As long as JW is able to write music, I see no reason why he wouldn't do the next two. He may not conduct the recording sessions though.I see that being the more likely route. JW will continue to write the music but just won't conduct for the most part.
Balahkay 629 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I'd be fine with that! I imagine he would still be present at the sessions.
Giftheck 1,108 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 who cares, we have to decide the composer for the next episodes when JW diesDon't center on your anxieties. Keep your concentration here and now, where it belongs rpvee and Cerebral Cortex 2
crumbs 15,516 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 So when's session 2? I'm guessing it's been divided into 3 or 4 blocks of recording, likely with 6-8 weeks of writing in between each session. That means there should be another scoring session in the next few weeks?
Maurizio 5,893 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I guess they're recording already, but they probably tightened up the security after the news leak of the first sessions. Williams will be in Tanglewood for most of August, so it's likely there will be another bunch of sessions in September.
crumbs 15,516 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I guess they're recording already, but they probably tightened up the security after the news leak of the first sessions. That's hard to believe. Surely some disgruntled, unversatile violinist grew tired of Williams' scathing personal attacks for poor up-bow staccato, and decided to leak the sheet music on Twitter?
Not Mr. Big 4,818 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Bob Iger on the film."I've seen the film without most of its special effects and without most of its music," Iger said. "I can't wait for the world to see it."http://www.cnbc.com/2015/07/27/disney-ceo-iger-espn-could-one-day-be-sold-direct.htmlStrange. I would have figured that most of the scoring would be done by now.

Director of Poltergeist 8,125 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Who the fuck is this:During the D23 presentation on the new Star Wars theme park shit, whoever from Disney Imagineering said they are recording original music at Abbey Road? Is that William Ross? If he's recording Star Wars theme park music in London, then who the hell is conducting the Force Awakens?
crumbs 15,516 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Wouldn't be just be composing that during a gap in recording sessions for TFA?Alternatively, Williams back is doing ok and he's back conducting?
Not Mr. Big 4,818 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Perhaps, since Williams couldn't conduct anyway, he decided to fly Ross over to London and Skype in instructions.
Balahkay 629 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Do we know how much conducting he's done vs Williams? Is it a fact that Ross was even conducting or just rumor? I don't remember anymore.
BloodBoal 7,544 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Who cares, really? Not matter how much conducting Ross has done, fanboys will keep on claiming Williams did everything, just like with COS, where they could admit the score was 100% Ross.
Lady Dimitrescu 9,918 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 At least you SW fans are getting a new JW score!
Lady Dimitrescu 9,918 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 You're getting more than what I'm getting from ID4!
Not Mr. Big 4,818 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 There's still one more recording session apparently. "We're in the editing room working on the cut, going over visual effects and going reviews, and we still have another scoring session with John Willams, who's a god when it comes to music."
Will 2,329 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 When was that video of JJ talking shot? The video was taken at the GLSEN Respect Awards, and, on Getty Images, all of the photos of Abrams at the GLSEN Respect Awards are dated October 23. I would guess that was Abrams's media availability day and that's the day the video was taken, although that's just speculation.
Popular Post Director of Poltergeist 8,125 Posted October 27, 2015 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2015 Hey that's encouraging that they're scoring the fucker right up to the end and not simply taking what Williams had already composed for an earlier cut and copy/pasting it like the prequels. King Mark 3,834 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I have a bad feeling this will be the most frustrating JW OST ever
Not Mr. Big 4,818 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I have a bad feeling this will be the most frustrating JW OST everEh, Tintin was done similarly and that had a perfectly fine OST.
Director of Poltergeist 8,125 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I have a feeling that TFA will get a deluxe expanded release. We aren't dealing with Sony or anyone else this time around.
Not Mr. Big 4,818 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I have a feeling that TFA will get a deluxe expanded release. We aren't dealing with Sony or anyone else this time around.I think so too, though it's doubtful it'll even be close to completeness given the already apparent vast wealth of alternates. It'll still be much more than we usually get though (should it happen).
Balahkay 629 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I hope Abrams doesn't burn Williams out for future projects. I am happy to hear they are recording so much music, though (or so it seems).
Romão 2,428 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 And the next scoring session is not necessarily dedicated to the later portion of the film
Little Ghost 7,876 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 And the next scoring session is not necessarily dedicated to the later portion of the filmIf the rumors of Luke being only in the end of the movie are true though...
