Damn, it looks like I am going to have to score Schindler's List after all.

Bumping the thread to showcase the new recording. I find the two performances comparable, but the recording quality of this one is obviously much higher.

I like that interpretation better. Perhaps I am too defensive when it comes to comments about Williams.

I do not think that the final sentence is meant as a criticism, but I find it odd. All of the most famous violin concertos have emotional gravity, usually most pronounced in the middle movement. Why on earth would this be a reason that Williams concerto is less "serious" at this point?

In (a partial) defense of Williams, I believe that he waives this fee when he conducts around the US.

Let's face it: it would be much cheaper than buying anything from Disney Music Emporium

For that cost, we are going to have to book someone better than Williams.
