  1. Sorry - whenever I see this
  2. Not sure this is the right place, but I was not aware of this book or the interview [William K. Guegold’s book, 100 years of Olympic Music: Music and Musicians of the Modern Olympic Games 1896–1996 (Mantua, Ohio: Golden Clef Publishing, 1996)] Nice mentions of JW's contributions in the web article! (movies & Olympics) A few Olympic Games surprises: Miracle and Bugler’s Dream by Douglas Yeo (July 29, 2025) https://thelasttrombone.com/2025/07/29/a-few-olympic-games-surprises-miracle-and-buglers-dream/
  3. Another nice review... John Williams’s pristine Piano Concerto premiered at Tanglewood Jari Kallio https://jarijuhanikallio.wordpress.com/2025/07/29/john-williamss-pristine-piano-concerto-premiered-at-tanglewood/
  4. Nice article that quotes Tim Greiving and references the new book! Music to Make A Man Fly: The Power of John Williams’ Theme to “Superman” Charlie Brigden https://www.rogerebert.com/features/music-to-make-a-man-fly-the-power-of-john-williams-theme-to-superman
  5. Not sure where to put this, but always nice to hear an arrangement for all trombones! The Flight to Neverland James Nova / 11 parts (2 altos, 6 tenors, 2 basses and 1 contrabass trombones)
  6. Brief JW clip at the end.... A Definitive ‘Jaws’ Documentary Is Coming Very Soon—Here’s the Trailer Featuring Steven Spielberg, John Williams, and more, 'Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story' hits Nat Geo, Hulu, and Disney+ in July. https://gizmodo.com/a-definitive-jaws-documentary-is-coming-very-soon-heres-the-trailer-2000609332
  7. Interesting article: How ‘Star Wars’ Is Changing Its Tune The legendary John Williams once set the soundtrack for the billion-dollar franchise. Now a new generation of Hollywood composers that he inspired are giving the Force a whole new feel. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/music-news/star-wars-music-john-williams-andor-1236191718/
  8. JW mentioned briefly here. Still need a recording w/o narration! Kobe Bryant rarely shared his interests beyond the game of basketball. His post-NBA career was ‘remarkable’ and unexpected https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/08/sport/kobe-bryant-nba-retirement-dear-basketball-spt-intl/index.html
  9. I searched and did not see this being previously posted... Film concerts: Performing movie music live By David Pogue Updated on: January 5, 2025 / 10:36 AM EST / CBS News https://www.cbsnews.com/news/film-concerts-performing-movie-music-live/
  10. (Cross post to FSM & JW Fan) None of the YouTube links in this worked for me so sorry if this has been posted before.... I had never seen the pilot in high quality before. Not the most important music but definitely hints of greatness! https://archive.org/details/gilligans-island-series-pilot
  11. I love these!
  12. I ended up ordering from Presto Music Nov 22 and it's currently in transit (UK to US). Looking forward to receiving it! https://www.prestomusic.com/classical/products/9637991--john-williams-reimagined
  13. Just got this from Amazon - any US ordering options?
  14. I drive a lot so listen to them in sequence every couple of years (iTunes makes it easy). One time I’ll listen to the soundtrack albums and the next score albums. In addition to the film music I add all the concert pieces, concertos, etc. if there is not a soundtrack/score album I just listen to the what exists. I don’t include re-recordings (like the By Request album; I listen to those mixed in with the other non-John Williams music I have). I looked in iTunes and it’s ~130 hours when I include the score albums and ~100 hours including the soundtrack albums. My wife is a pretty good sport. but she is happy to not be with me when John Goldfarb & Thomas and The King come up…
  15. The Gumdrop Fun Shop in Ellijay, GA (https://www.thegumdropfunshop.com/). Nice small town shopping area. I was waiting out front for my wife while she was shopping, and in the middle of two children’s songs they played the OST track of The Raiders March. I really did not expect to hear that. It was the only non-kids’ music I heard while I was there.
