And the reason it works so well on a visceral level goes deeper than genre mixing or storytelling devices. It's Giger's Freudian production design and Goldsmith's organic music, for example, that constantly play upon images and themes of birth cycles, castration, maternity etc. It's not like the average audience member deciphers this rationally ("Oh, what a great Freudian metaphor I saw just there!"), but rather it sneaks in subconsciously to create an even greater sense of terrror than if it was just a superficial space horror story about people being chased by monster in dark corridors. In short, it's the use of images and sound in a way that isn't just about storytelling; but about creating an envelopping state of mind relating to fundamental human trauma.

Pretty sure Ian McDiamond (I know that's not how you spell it but whatevs) showed up on stage right after the trailer premiered. Will he be a force ghost? Can baddies even be force ghosts? 
 
Maybe as he was falling to his doom in ROTJ, he repented all his crimes very, very quickly and became a good guy again.
 
And his laughter at the end of the trailer is genuine happiness that the whole gang is together having a fun adventure.

So J.J decided to actually have all the main characters interact in ep9. For the first real time in fact. Finally a good idea. Rey, Fin and Poe together will strengthen the film. 

I did not entirely care for it when I first saw it...then I watched the first one again today...and now I like this one even less. 
 
If youre looking a proper sequel to the first one, then you’re out of luck. It might be more enjoyable on its own, but it’s an awful sequel. They botch half the characters from the first one in my opinion.

Ehh, me and the two friends I saw it with thought it was pretty dreadful - honestly prequels level of bad. Just a really messy, badly paced, incoherent sprawl. Whereas I quite liked the first film.

Rowling is an author, not a screenwriter, that’s the conclusion I made after the first one.

I Am the Senate is a pretty strong contender.
 

I think he has potential. I like quite a few of his works so far. Creed has an amazing theme (or 3 for the price of one) and Black Panther is also very good. I think he's a really strong melodist, like Powell, and that in itself makes him a perfect guy for this job. SW needs youthful voices built on strong compositional foundations.

Cool. I think what I liked about it was that it felt like the kind of shot that goes from concept art to screen completely intact. 

Photorealistic?

the photorealistic title threw me off but actually listening to these is mind-boggling! they're almost completely identical to the real thing, sample libraries and the surrounding technology have come an insanely long way. especially that brass, normally that's the worst part but it sounds really crisp and natural here.

I second the motion of getting this kind of treatment on unreleased cues, in particular the alternate AOTC ending cue - I think that'd be utterly fantastic as a complete 'what-if' audio experience.

Can he mock up some alternate cues Williams wrote but never recorded?

That works surprisingly well. I hope to god Ep 9 doesn't end with yet another Binary Sunset rendition. 

I like to pretend that TFA ended a bit more like this. Here's hoping for a unique ending for episode IX
