It's not aimed at anybody with brains.

ciarlese got a reaction from Badzeee in Disney Emporium releases Indiana Jones: The Complete CD Collection (Expected ship date is March 27, 2024.) No new expansions - Includes the previous Concord Records programmes plus KotCS and DoD OSTs
This is not just an item we don't like.
This is a sign of how Disney deals with soundtracks and their release, and shows lacks of respect for customers, and also proves how incapable they are in taking the right decisions in this market. We have been waiting for proper IJ releases for many years, and the best Disney can do is to add a cardboard box and price the set at $30 per disk, while you can comfortably buy the very same content for much less. They even managed to keep some previously available music out of this box. All of this right after the disastrous release of the DoD CD.
These release goes in the wrong direction of what should be made, frustrates the hopes of the fans, and this is why it's getting such a reaction, especially when the market is now full of great releases and it's so clear how to proceed and who to get involved.

ciarlese reacted to Goldfingers in HOOK (1991) - NEW! 2023 3-CD Ultimate Edition Produced, Edited, and Mastered by Mike Matessino featuring all Williams/Bricusse songs
The songs are integral to Hook essence. Spielberg had a strong desire to turn Hook into a musical.
Choosing not to explore them would mean missing out on understanding the core inspiration behind the movie's themes.
Why would you want to miss out on such a delicious experience?

ciarlese reacted to The Lost Folio in HOOK (1991) - NEW! 2023 3-CD Ultimate Edition Produced, Edited, and Mastered by Mike Matessino featuring all Williams/Bricusse songs
I always considered the original album to be excellent, regardless of the circumstances that led to it. At over 75 min, it was the most generous JW album between Superman and Attack of the Clones! I think the selection of excerpts flows extremely well from beginning to end, edits and all.

ciarlese got a reaction from Martinland in Disney Emporium releases Indiana Jones: The Complete CD Collection (Expected ship date is March 27, 2024.) No new expansions - Includes the previous Concord Records programmes plus KotCS and DoD OSTs
There is something in common, however they were already done disk sets, the prices were still reasonable, the distribution was absolutely flawless, Sony Classic still released an "ultimate edition" of episode I, and we knew they very likely wouldn't hold the rights for several years. Also we could hope that IJ would get a better treatment as the rights were on a different hand.
On top of that, it is now 20 years later and instead of any light at the end of the tunnel we are seeing things going backwards .
