...and that is exactly the only version and only BluRay I own, complete w/ GlastoEls on the inside. (us and Marian are there too, just outside the left edge of the DigiPak/picture, plus the picture has been taken from just in front of our daughter's view/seat... ;))

I’ll forever be so delighted to be immortalised on the inside packaging of the Blu-Ray, brother!

But far more important was the great memory of meeting you, your family and the gang at the Gmoakeller restaurant afterwards (not forgetting Milan, and London…!)

Anyone who ordered started getting any shipping notices as yet? Mine states as IN SHIPPING PROCESS on my order page.

@Amer it hasn’t shipped for anyone in Japan yet. I’ll post here as soon as it arrives!

Is it possible to play MQA/UHQCD format on standard CD player?

Yes, but without the higher resolution (and some minor loss to the standard CD resolution).

We still need those three bonus tracks in non-MQA encoding. Just sayin'.

Aren't they available losslessly on Qobuz?

CD has also arrived in Germany (from CD Japan)!

Without (the distraction of) the printed signature...;-)

The jewel case is thicker (deeper) than usual.

I'd be interested in one of the extra copies if still available...

They'd be shipping from Japan?

Delivery would be to USA (Texas)

There are currently 4 in stock @ CDJapan : John Williams - Live In Vienna (Special Edition) [Hi-Res CD (MQA x UHQCD)] John Williams CD Album

[postcard without printed signature]

After my second listening on my HiFi, I experienced the three new tracks rather as an opening, a kind of teaser for things to come, be it a full release of Vienna II (please!) and/or a series of releases based on the upcoming performances with the Saito Kinen Orchestra.

Wow, completely missed this thread until now! Glad it was still active.

Just ordered the Special Edition Vienna and the remastered Gerhardt's from CDJapan. Thanks for the finds.

I believe this will give me every Vienna version out there including the LPs. (Pleased don't mention this to my wife! Although she knows I am sure.)

Ha. I was once placing my order via Mobile phone while Speaking to MV Gerhard [LLL CEO] late at night and my wife walked in the room. I had to cut short the call ..LOL

Has anyone ordered this to the US? And I assume this is the best version to get CD wise?

There is to my knowledge (currently) only this Japanese "Special Edition", which was apparently intended to commemorate JW's return to Japan for the concerts with SKO.

That was a compelling unshrink-wrapping.

I always keep the Obi, either together with the booklet or placed inside the back of the jewel case.

I also don’t think this release is listed on Discogs.

This new special edition is listed on Discogs for about a week now:

That doesn't mean anything, I'm still waiting for two classical box sets to appear on there that were released in May.

As we may or may not know. Discogs is a crowd sourced site. Think of it like a Wiki. If something isn’t there and you have the data you can submit it.

I’ve done that a few times for track times as it bugs me when they are omitted.
