Disco Stu 15,495
I tried watching it again many months later just to make sure it wasn't because I had heartburn the first time or something. But nope, I find that movie insulting. Naïve Old Fart

Kasey Kockroach 2,344
Arguing about whether or not the movie has merit makes me sad, but I will say that the sound design is terrible. Why express so much faith and enthusiasm for the composer, when his music can barely be heard in the movie? Even with all the dinosaur carnage in the other movies, Williams and Davis' scores can be heard loud and clear. Especially disappointing as I find Giacchino's contribution more interesting than Davis' (but I still enjoy the latter score for what it is). The film also should've used practical effects more often, but that doesn't bother me as much. I like the film a lot, but I hold absolutely no desire to provoke any debate. Allow me to be meek and submissive here, basically. Similarly, I pretty much love every frame of all four Jaws movies (and every note of their scores), despite the fact that only the original is worthwhile in any way (but darnit, the sequels are just so FUN in their inadequacy that I don't find them depressing at all). It's just an unconditional love that I've long accepted in my life.
mstrox 6,651
I had no problem with the plot/story. It's a movie about running away from dinosaurs, so I got what I wanted out of it. The only problem I had with Jurassic World was the extremely CGI-ness of the dinosaurs. While the CGI is obviously much better than the CG in 1993, 1998, etc, there was basically nothing to ground the creatures or make them feel real. Without that, it just looks like the same cartoon creatures that chase people in every adventure movie these days.
nightscape94 965
So a raptor and T-Rex tag teaming a mutant dinosaur seemed too fake, eh? Bilbo
Kasey Kockroach 2,344
The CGI is fine, the problem is there's barely any practical effects to provide a balance.

Kasey Kockroach 2,344
I can't remember if it's on the DVD or not, but I vividly recall seeing this behind the scenes video where they're filming Katie's death scene and she's giddily exclaiming "I get to die today!!", laughing as she's swung on the bungee cord. It "ruined" the scene in the best way, to where it's officially canon to me that she survived. She's playing cards with the Indominus and the pteranodon in the stomach, and eventually the mosasaurus kindly spits her out so she can have a tearful reunion with her boss miss Dearing, who she's secretly having a steamy love affair with. They don't bother inviting that dork Owen for a threesome. Or maybe I shouldn't post my fanfiction ideas, yeah...

Kasey Kockroach 2,344
That I can understand, though believe me, I witnessed plenty of whining for the former case.
