  2. It's awesome, and very much underappreciated by the majority of people. It used to be my clear favourite of Williams' 97 drama output (i.e. not counting TLW), but Amistad has grown on me since then, so it's probably a tie now. I love the guitar stuff. It's also one of the best sounding CDs in my collection.

  3. I think you're spot on about the scenes the early bits of 'The White Council' are meant to accompany. I thought the same about the sudden sinister turn and Bilbo catching a glimpse of Alan Lee's mural of Sauron and Isildur. I just hope that rendition of Bilbo's theme isn't replaced by Shire material in the Extended Edition. I'm already irked that the wonderful grand statement of it on 'Axe or Sword?' didn't make it.

  5. Anyone who's ever gone through this process understands the inevitability of it. What's funny (and so relatable) is that Jerry wasn't able to see the answer until he went through the two-week process. In this case, it wasn't about creating greatness; it was about recognizing it. - Uni

  6. That's one of the funniest things about creative process of any kind, isn't it? You always need to take this round trip. The funny thing it is almost always unavoidable. Human brain is a bizzare thing! Karol

  7. Jerry was a master. It takes a little more time to realize it with him than with John, but if you listen long enough it will inevitably come to you. My favorite Goldsmith story is of his struggles writing the lush, romantic theme for Medicine Man (which makes its finest appearance—and one of his finest moments ever—in "The Trees"). He spent two weeks suffering major writer's block, going through iteration after iteration, theme after theme, attempt after attempt. Nothing worked for him. One evening, at the end of this fortnight of futility, he sat blankly looking through the few dozen themes he'd composed. At the bottom of the stack he found his very first attempt . . . and instantly he knew that was the right one. It had been there all along. He'd just forgotten about it. And he was right. It was the best theme. This has got to be the single unfunniest, most pointless video I have ever encountered on the internet. - Uni

  8. Omaha Beach (dare I say, the main theme of Saving Private Theme). To me, conveys the weight and dignity of the soldiers w/o being overly sentimental.

  9. Fantastic news! Instant buy for me as I do not own the original CD! I really hope some day they will produce a comprehensive Poirot collection featuring all the music Gunning composed for the show. His contributions are just the classiest stuff in the series.

  10. What a sad dickhead with no meaning in his life. With every new account, he slides further down into the pit of lonely despair. I almost feel sorry for him.

  11. Augie is now using proxies to create new accounts and post from them. It may be a while until he gets bored and stops. In the meantime, I am going to delete all new posts/accounts he makes rather then leave them here on the board. Might delete this thread after a while too. And obviously, the Augie account is banned for life.

  12. I think Maximus the Kryptonian could be a cool character. I don't like the armor, though.

  13. I don't typically put shared credit into the artist tag unless I have a substantial amount of the collaborator to warrant the split, in order to minimize the number of artists I must scroll through.Same with song duets and tracks with "featured" artists. If I need to see the other names, they go in the title. Not to mention how many Fox Fanfares I tagged by the artist of the album instead of Newman simply to avoid tagging them as compilations.
