Cerebral Cortex reacted to crumbs in The Last Jedi's temp-track is "95% Star Wars music"
I would be embarrassed for Rian if he spotted the film with JW using a temped cut.
More likely he used the temp to find the film's tone and gave JW notes about moods he felt would fit scenes, based on the temp.

One, just my gut, and that fact that Jay also seems to feel that way.
But also the fact that, according to Disco Stu, in the TFA commentary track J.J. Abrams said he was surprised by the "Rey's Trip" cue. That gave me the sense that maybe he was giving Williams some free reign, which I interpreted as JW not seeing the film with temp track. Obviously I am speculating a lot here and I could be wrong.

Cerebral Cortex got a reaction from Will in Indiana Doug and the Temple of Doug
How lazy of Doug to settle on just sharing a blurry pic instead of taking the time to try and get it all in focus!

With the Hobbit films, the music editors put together a temp track, but the version Howard Shore watched never had the temp track mixed in; he never heard it. It's quite possible JW works the same way, with all films and/or with Star Wars in particular.

Cerebral Cortex got a reaction from Josh500 in John Williams JVC ad
Doug Adams recently shared on Twitter this JVC ad with Williams which I had previously been unaware of:

That's a good one, but I prefer the untouched original:

Cerebral Cortex reacted to Disco Stu in Indiana Doug and the Temple of Doug
This, along with his previous tweets about solving the mystery of the "Homage A Maxie" cue name from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, has me very excited for the near future of being a Williams fan

A hint of something from Doug Adams on Twitter...

Cerebral Cortex reacted to crumbs in Indiana Doug and the Temple of Doug
Well that's an unexpected surprise? An Indiana Jones box set produced by Mike Matessino with liner notes by @Doug Adams? Finally, we've cracked the Lucasfilm barrier and remastered Star Wars expansions for all 8 films are on their way!
I love jumping to conclusions.
... especially when all manner of strict Disney NDAs would prevent Doug Adams from revealing such an announcement via a Tweet!

Cerebral Cortex reacted to Loert in Indiana Doug and the Temple of Doug
I think I can make out some of the text on the left:
"...for instance, if we take the opening of Willie's theme and combine it with the middle section of the Raider's March, the gaps between the notes get smaller with time, symbolising how Indiana and Willie start off hating each other before gradually becoming intertwined in a relationship as Willie wins over the heart of Indiana (which, of course, is the antithesis of Mola Ram trying to rip out the heart of Indiana by force in the bridge sequence)..."

Cerebral Cortex got a reaction from John in Star Wars is better than everything
As naive as it is to even entertain as a possible outcome, I hope we never will get a saga Star Wars film without Williams.

Cerebral Cortex got a reaction from Will in How to contact JW
See, you were way too aggressive, man. You should have gotten there early in the morning, let yourself in, and waited on his living room sofa for him to come downstairs in his bathrobe. That way you're working on his schedule and he gets his beauty sleep. Much more considerate, trust me.

Cerebral Cortex reacted to Skelly in How to contact JW
It wasn't until later that I realized I should have blatted out a Star Wars tune on my trombone, just like those other guys. I felt like such a fool!

Cerebral Cortex reacted to Skelly in How to contact JW
John Williams was really mean to me when I tried to contact him. I went up to his house but didn't want to bother him at a time when he would be busy. So around 2 or 3 in the morning I started knocking on his bedroom window. He seemed very bewildered to see a dedicated fan like me! Before I could give him my list of suggestions for the next Star Wars score he grabbed a couple of batons and started hitting me with them. I still don't know what I did wrong; maybe he thought I was Michael Giacchino.

They are, from a certain point of view. Recording aesthetics, and the fact that they are more Williamsy in general.

With the exception of parts of ROTS, they really are pretty bad. AOTC is borderline unwatchable.
That said, the are original, and I credit Lucas for taking the story, look and tone in different directions rather than simply remaking what came before.

It would seem the best way these days is to play the Star Wars theme outside his house.

Warms me heart to see Williams get that huge applause and for him to very gently shush them. A bit bizarre seeing Williams in the heart of complete fandom for once.
