Well, one of the characteristics of these leitmotivic scores is that, by the time you're a couple of entries in, the motives have accured a lot more associative meaning, and so the gestures become much more evocative and pregnant with meaning, and thus register more...

It's basically a lose lose situation for us. If we support this garbage, it just encourages them to keep churning out garbage. If we boycott it, they assume nobody buys this stuff and don't invest more money in better releases.

Will be very interested to hear what sources were found for this. 1st gen, maybe? Digital or analogue? Of course, they could all have been transferred years ago. I won't be surprised if it turns out that this was actually done a while ago and it's just the release that's been held up for whatever irritating reason. Two booklets? Love it, especially the 'Awfully Big Soundtrack' title on one of them. Jay's now Associate Producer, eh? We're not worthy. I can't believe it won't have been, but I will emit a sigh of relief when/if I hear for certain that the 48kHz/44.1kHz speed error in the Prologue has been properly corrected, preferably by transferring it properly through a rate convertor, not just fiddling with the speed in ProTools/Audacity/whatever. OK, so who here's going to stick to any previous personal policy of 'I'm never going to order in the first batch, I'm going to wait until they press corrected versions'? Mark

Regarding "original production" I go with what is and has been in the movie since 1986. Anytime. And not what has been release in 2024 as a 5000 items limited edition. If the recorded synth track leaves holes to be filled with vocals, that's is not an intended artefact. It is an unfilled hole.

I appreciate the comments above about the lack of vocals, but I’m really enjoying the disc 1 tracks without them.
 
Over an hour of Harold Faltermeyer in his peak-80s synth mode is such a blast. The Anthem early demos are fascinating and Radar Radio is so good to finally hear on CD.
