If Paramount allowed a toy maker to sell a model kit called "Captain Kirk's Starship," it would be accurate.

It does not matter if nobody cared about the word "slave" forty years ago. The ignorance of yesterday does not gift a free pass to the future. It only matters what goes on new merchandise moving forward.

The term "Slave One" was used extensively in the old EU Legends, but it is still canon now. Case in point, this two year old comic set during the final act of The Empire Strikes Back.

Here, Lando Calrissian, drawn as Billy Dee, an American black man with African American parents, uses the term "slave" in his dialog.

I don't remember if the ship's name was spoken in Episode II because it's been a long time since I wanted to watch it. I got six eps into The Clone Wars before stopping.

This bothers you a lot. It shouldn't.

Slave is not a nice word. It never was. George should've named it something else, but George never predicted his ships would become Lego sets and his bad guys would become good guys with their own TV shows.

Calling the ship "Boba Fett's Ship" is more publicity for the character himself and the show, which is a tent pole for Disney+.

Calling it "slave" sounds dirty. It would be like selling Lego sets for Leia's torture / mind rape scene, or with her rape costume from Jabba's Palace.

Ian released a new album earlier this year, the first as Jethro Tull in many years.  The Zealot Gene.  I've heard mixed reviews.

Their 2022 tour starts in Finland in late April. Their Ukraine dates will be rescheduled.

Don't call it a boot. Call it a high-necked leather foot warmer.
Maybe Paramount plans to sell an album entitled "More Music from Star Trek," featuring fifteen additional minutes of score, some dialogue tracks, special effects, and a Tiesto remix of the end credits. Oh, one can hope!

Did you watch The Book of Boba Fett? He told Fennec Shand that his Firespray spaceship was trapped in Jabba's hangar.

Firespray-31 is the correct name for the class of ship that the Slave I is. It's still technically called the Slave I. It doesn't need to be actively called by that name anymore.

The word "slave" is used many times in various movies, but it's not being used to sell those movies.

The word "slave" is not a good word to slap on the outside of a toy box that you're selling to children, especially when so many consumers are descended from slaves of various empires and nations. Disney is wise to avoid controversy by distancing themselves from the word.

We watched this over the weekend in two sittings. I was a sobbing mess by the end and it's all John Williams' fault. Little kid feels Peter's face, I cry. The food appears I cry. Slice the coconut, I cry. Moira hands the baby to her daddy, I cry.

It leaves Netflix 31 March. Don't share passwords but see it before it goes.

I last saw her in that awful Inbetweeners reunion thing on Channel 4. And she still looked utterly gorgeous there. She clearly gets better with age.

I was watching clips from the excellent Peter Serafinowicz Show last night and she seemed to pop in regularly.

I finally got around to installing the necessary prerequisites (CEMU Emulator) and setting everything just right to play Breath of the Wild on my PC, blown up on a 65" C1 OLED displaying at 4k but internally rendering at 5k. It is indeed a spellbinding, if not stupendously flawless (as they say), adventure. It looks beautiful, even by today's standards. Visually almost timeless, quite possibly. So I've been chilling in the evenings, slowly making my way through the game. It's a very relaxing pastime, chipping away at the serenely paced central quest line and experimenting with the world's delightful systems. I'm enjoying it a lot.
