With the 2 months it took to get the credits fixed, maybe someone went back and double checked.

Congrats to Intrada and those who contributed. It hit the goal already, with 15 days to still go.

This thread brings back memories. I believe this was released the day I met John Williams. A very good day.

MV Gerhard is the head of a film music label that releases scores from many composers across many eras of film-making.

When he said, in February 2021, "We hope to have some new releases first week or two of March. After that, fingers crossed, a great flood shall wash upon the soundtrack marketplace unlike ever before...at least for a period of time" he was of course thinking about all the titles they had worked on that had gotten delayed that he knew would be big sellers.  He knew they would be big sellers because fans of all different composers and eras of film making buy titles from his label!

So subsequently, when every single month has brought another title that is selling multiple THOUSANDS of copies - X-Men in May! Always In June! Somewhere In Time in July! The Wrath of Khan in August! - his statement has been extremely accurate, and there are of course more titles of this nature yet to come, too!

Everyone has different favorite composers, different eras of film scoring they are more drawn to, different genres and styles they prefer, etc etc.  Just because titles that are not deep in your wheelhouse have been announced yet does not mean that MV made any sort of inaccurate or misleading statement when he said that.

Got tired of waiting for a re-stock, so I went and bought the Target exclusive with the variant cover and the bonus track "On The Chair Lift"

    Thank you.

The only answer I can give you is that I used to matter a tiny bit once. Maybe I will again one day, though I doubt it.

Neil S. Bulk (or IndySolo as he was once known here about 20 years ago!) and music director Deniz Cordell join me on tonight’s Movie Magic to talk about this release, and play Horner’s thematic ideas on piano. It’s a fun chat with lots of cues & insider Trek references you may enjoy. We’re on www. Belfast247Radio.com from 7-9pm (GMT)

I'm not a musical scholar so I'll leave the technical aspects of the discussion to the experts.

That being said, from a listener's standpoint, Goldsmith was on par with Williams. If I had a Mount Rushmore of film composers, Goldsmith would be second, after Johnny.

He had his share of big films, granted they weren't the huge $300 Million - $500 Million that Williams had, but during his peak years there weren't as many of those as there are nowadays.

It just seems at times Jerry caught some of the bad breaks or leftovers that you would have thought to be successful projects but probably came at the wrong time.

Most of his action writing was second to none and I agree with Yavar, he could write some beautiful, tender, romantic music.
