Haven't listened to it for 10 years or so. I especially enjoyed 'The Mecha World' (that brass!) and the sad playfulness of  'Hide And Seek'.

These sorts of explanations work a whole lot better in advance of people seeing it versus as a lame excuse to cover one's limitations and/or artistic choices.  Either way, dull is dull.  Akin to "Jar Jar is supposed to be annoying," as if that makes him more tolerable.  

Only like one scene in that one, a scene when they went through a very narrow passage. It gave me claustrophobia.

Does anyone like ELEVEN TRACKS OF WHACK?
Although not being as accomplished musically as Fagen's output, it has a cynical, world-weary quality that also marks a lot of the Dan's best songs.

Stopped watching WandaVision after 7 minutes. I don't like that Disney wants to go backwards with TV. I'm too much for progress, to go to places TV has never been before.  Disney+ seems to be the opposite of that. Soon they be telling us a woman's place is in the kitchen. 

He is. But he only gets room to shine in the first 30 minutes of the movie. After that the movie becomes overcrowded, unfocused and sorta forgets about him. I really wasn't interested in the Oscar baiting romance of characters that don't even matter to the story.

Now there's an ironic typo. 

I didn't know it was possible to make an old movie look like it's the first ever projection on premiere night. I guess most people mistake decades of film deterioration and general abuse with 'cinematic'. I often wanted to see a movie very early on because then the print would still look pristine. It's also the reason why I hated vinyl, the more you play it, the worse it sounded. The more old film deteriorates, the more visible grain becomes. The difference in quality between a movie on premiere night and TV premiere (often years later) was immense.

This week I tried Spielberg's Lincoln again, but, alas, it's impossible for me to watch this movie. There's something about the style, subject and tone that I really dislike. To be honest, I don't like Spielberg anymore ... Crystal Skull, Lincoln, Bridge Of Spies, Ready Player One, Tintin, The Post, War Horse ... The list is getting too long.

It's one of my favourite movies no matter what. It's probably the only Spielberg movie that changes depending on the angle that it's viewed from. That's why multiple viewing is so rewarding with EOTS.

Treated myself to a new pair of headphones which were delivered today. I've gone for the Sennheiser HD-560S and really really impressed so far! They're described as "reference grade for analytical listening sessions" on the box and reviews seem to agree with that. Not finding them at all "harsh" though. Very pleasant to listen to while still being highly resolving, pulling out all the detail from recordings. Instruments sound amazing, as do vocals.
 
Listening to Jaws now and enjoying a lovely balanced, neutral sound with detailed and well controlled bass when called for and a wide soundstage.
