Someone in work who I can't stand is REALLY angry that the UK release date of The Lighthouse has been shifted from the 31st of this month to the end of January instead (she had a big sweary rant about it on Tumblr).

Hehehe.

A photo of Willem Dafoe in the movie Togo, premiering on Disney+ on December 13th

Quote

Based on a true story, Togo follows veteran dogsled trainer Leonhard Seppala (played by Willem Dafoe) and his lead dog Togo. In the winter of 1925, when the first signs of a potential diphtheria epidemic appeared in Nome, Seppala joined the serum run and chose Togo, a smaller, older Siberian husky, to lead his team, and their precious antitoxin serum cargo, through 50 below zero temperatures, gale force winds and whiteouts.

Haven't this done this same movie a lot? Doggos on an ice wasteland and their owner, trying to survive and deliver medicine to the kids...

I love snow movies!  More snow!

I love how ScarJo is just a "Golden Globe Nominee".

Has she not been nominated for an Oscar yet? Huh.

Adam Driver just had his first earlier this year.  First of many I'll wager.

Yea, he's been nailing some great projects from the get-go. Kid has a great agent.

He deserved one for Paterson!  But that movie's not showy enough for the Academy.

New trailer for Bad Boys For Life:

This isn't even directed by Michael Bay?  WTF?  There goes any hope of it being a fun trashterpiece.

EDIT:  Good Lord, I didn't even realize there was a new Michael Bay movie out next month on Netflix.

Uncut Gems with Adam Sandler is getting critical acclaim like you wouldn't believe. I think this is going to be the movie of the year for me. That or The Lighthouse ...

They took too long with pre-production so Bay bailed.

80s fans, rejoice: Beverly Hills Cop IV (yes, apparently this is happening) is coming, and not through Paramount, but on Netflix:

Also, Craig Brewer, who directed Eddie Murphy on the well received Netflix movie Dolemite is my Name and the upcoming Coming 2 America, will probably be the director here as well.

If there's one game franchise I think it could be turned into a decent movie, that's Uncharted.

It's a relatively simple formula: thirtysomething wisecracking and charismatic adventurer travels to exotic locations alongside his mentor and his love interest to uncover treasures before bad guys put their hands on it. If done properly, it could be a very funny adventure movie.

Also, why they didn't cast Nathan Fillion as Drake is beyond me. The guy is (or, at least, was) perfect for the role!

I'm curious to see how Thomas Newman's score will sound like. Like the action music of his Bond, Passengers, WALL-E and Nemo/Dory scores, or maybe something more subdued? Maybe him doing his own impersonation of Zimmer's Dunkirk (the current blueprint score for war movies)?
