Matt C 455
I wish Watertower would just license the rest of the Batman scores to LLL to release. Like another volume of Batman the Animated Series and Goldenthal's superior Batman & Robin score.

Delorean90 42
Actually, I would be curious to see what an Intrada/LaLaLand style presentation of those scores would present. That over-priced expanded TDK is a mess, and BB's most comprehensive boot is still missing some of its best stuff.

Delorean90 42
If you're talking about the 3-disc one for BB, it's still missing material. I'd have to go back through to check it for everything, but I definitely remember that the material for the full courtroom scene and subsequent shooting are absent.EDIT: And in hindsight I realize maybe it isn't missing some of the best stuff--it's been a while since I checked it--but definitely fairly significant material, anyway. scallenger 487
Isn't there recording sessions or complete version of Batman and Robin out there too? Richard Penna 3,715
Why do I keep hearing the word 'perpetuity' associated with Varese? Do any of the others labels have this privilege?I don't know whether this applies to other score labels, but Varese is just the best known example. There are a whole load of scores from the mid 90s onwards which received truly terrible releases at the time due to reuse fees, and although MV rattled off a list of about 6 or 7 titles a while ago that they definitely have forever, we don't know the state of all of them.It really doesn't help that Varese as a company has basically no communication with customers whatsoever (about current projects, feedback on releases, missing music from expansions) - and as Trent said, it seems that Townson is really only interested in getting older material out these days and doesn't really respond to questions about whether he plans to do anything soon with their more recent property.Or put it this way - one of my #1 holy grails is probably with them in perpetuity, and that scares the hell out of me. tharpdevenport 4
I recall somebody at FSM saying that "Batman & Robin" had a bunch of alternates, so many it would need like a CD to fill. shockwave 8
Actually Charlie, I'd rather have "Sphere" next! At least with Alien 3 we got the isolated score on the Blu Ray! I would love to see an expanded score to Sphere as well. So I am hoping Varese is considering a lot of their 90's 30 or more scores to be part of their club DX edtions in the near future.Oh and yes I am looking forward to Batman Forever too. Matt C 455
Many same cues, but different performances and orchestrations. Batman & Robin has a bigger sound, I think. That's what I love about it. The Freeze and Ivy themes are the icing on the cake as well. The minute LLL or any other specialty CD outlet announces a CD release of B&R, I will buy it. Whether it's a Goldenthal-approved single disc or a LLL Expanded Archival Collection... it will be mine.I did watch part of Batman Forever on the Syfy Channel the other day, and I liked the cues underscoring the Chase Meridian scenes. I've forgotten how beautiful Nicole Kidman looked back in the 1990s, as opposed to being overly Botoxed now.
Unlucky Bastard 7,782
Oh she was a honey in 1995. Romão 2,274
Actually, I think it was re-used (or re-arranged), for the scene when Bruce is having dinner with Julie Madison and sees a vision of Poison Ivy when he kisses her
lonzoe 18
This was the most anticipated reissue of 2011 for me back when LLLR released BR last year. I knew this wasn't far away. I'll have to wait until February to get this. Jason box and other things are preventing me from purchasing this right away. I hate that b/c I missed it's original album release. And I'm a fan of the score. Which was the best thing about an otherwise decent popcorn movie. Plus I'm a big batman fan. So this is going to be almost as much torture (patience wise) as waiting for that Jason box. Just hope this won't sell out before I'm able to purchase it. Goldenthal’s robust orchestral score honors The Caped Crusader with a powerful theme that is pitch perfect whether appearing as a stalwart march or brooding character study. Produced and supervised by Elliot Goldenthal, produced for La-La Land Records by Neil S. Bulk and Dan Goldwasser, and mastered by James Nelson, this 2-CD limited edition release features exclusive, in-depth liner notes from film music writer John Takis and is a must-have for any film-music enthusiast. Romão 2,274
Indeed, that is a great one As for Batman Forever, while it might not fit with most people's notion of Batman should be, it still is one of the greatest comic book scores ever written. The thing is literally a living comic book. The finnest music ever written for the Caped Crusaded, IMHO, and I'm a huge fan of the character
