Popular Post Archive Collection 214
Having seen the film, I’m in the process of creating a detailed breakdown of the film score, cue-by-cue. I’ll try to include any information about “tracked” music from other films, diegetic source music etc. Spoilers ahead. INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY Music by JOHN WILLIAMS Work in Progress: 1. "Opening Titles" (ca. 2:35): contains 'Belly of the Steel Beast' from Last Crusade. 2. "Once Upon a Time..." (ca. 0:15) 3. "Explosion Sting" (ca. 0:05) 4. "Castle Explosion" (ca. 0:40) contains 'The Nightclub Brawl' from Temple of Doom. - - - Magical Mystery Tour - by The Beatles Source Music. Space Oddity - by David Bowie Source Music. - - - New York Chase Sequence: a - Score (Unreleased) b - Source No. 1 - Marching Band (Unreleased, possibly Pulse of the City by William Ross - overlaid with score) c - Source No. 2 - Amazing Grace Bagpipes "New York, 1969": OST track 17, 0:00-0:46. Underscores Indy and Helena’s dialogue. Film has a clean ending, whereas the album crossfades into... "Marion's Theme - Finale" (1:25): OST track 17 0:46-2:18. Marion’s theme onwards. The album version is longer in a few spots, but the film version has a clean opening with the Flute solo. “Main on End Credits” (ca. 1:54): OST track 17, 2:18-end. Raiders March, exact same on OST. “End Credits Crawl #1” (ca. 3:20): OST track 2. Helena’s Theme. The complete suite, but a few silences and longer notes are shortened in the film version. “End Credits Crawl #2” (ca. 5:33): OST track 1, 1:07-end. crumbs 14,318
Gosh this is impressively fast, you beat me to the punch! Happy to answer any questions here as well. 1 hour ago, Archive Collection said: Source Music. I picked up on quite a bit of source music throughout the film but have no idea what's Williams or not. There's a jazzy source cue in the Morocco bazaar, and another source cue for the puppet show in Sicily. The funeral (or wedding?) procession at the start of the Sicily section has source music too. William Ross was credited for something called "Pulse of the City", as you identified.

HB Potlood 33
More source music: "The Girl from Ipanema" by Stan Getz plays when Helena follows Indy and Mason is spying on her. This leads into the first appearance of Helena's Theme. Correction: This song plays a bit earlier, when Indy gets his retirement clock. A snippet of Tom Jones' version of "Fly Me to the Moon" is briefly heard during the chase through the parade. The end credits also list "Chombo Merengue" by Les Aiglons de Basse Terre and "La Fogaraccia" by Nino Rota. This last piece is possibly the jazzy piece in the Morocco bazaar. It was possibly tracked from that scene.

This is the Morocco bazaar source: And this is the source music for the puppet show in Sicily (when Teddy steals money from that other kid). I'd hoped the Morocco source was Williams, but there ya go. Still unclear where William Ross' Pulse of the City belongs.
lairdo 726
In terms of "source" music cues, should we include Beethoven's 5th Symphony 1st movement as performed by Indy and Helena when they are in the cave? Brando 1,864
Is it playing off of a record? I’m not that familiar with Beethoven so I don’t know what the 1st movement of the 5th Symphony sounds like, but is it just playing in the background then? Also if it is, kinda strange IMDb doesn’t have it listed there. Arnaud2 and ins 1
