That February is indeed three months away.

-Ross, who learned not to make predictions with the Academy. It doesn't like that. Makes it angry. You won't like it when it's angry.

I actually meant on the interenet. Now, should you ask "What the %&*$ is the internet", I would say the following: "The Internet is a communication tool used the world over where people can come together to bitch about movies and share pornography with one another."

Morlock- always trying to be helpful, and to enlighten his fellow man :)

I know what the internet is, but what it the interenet?

That would be sweet. Although in this case I can't think of too many really fantastic cues that were left off the OST. We've got "Off to Work" which I think is just plain amazing, and "The Incredits" is a must... I'd have to see the film a couple more times to hear if anything really great was omitted.

Well, AoTC didn't deserve to by any stretch, and they made up for not nominating TPM (which never would've won) by nominating the far lesser known Angela's Ashes.

I'm pretty sure the Academy will nominate The Terminal, The Passion and The Indredibles. I'm not saying if they are deserving or not, but those 3 are almost a sure thing to me. We'll see in February.

I'm not sure The Passion will get a score nod. The talk about the film has reallly almost dissappeared, it seems like it's ancient history (I still think it deserves a supposrting actor nod for the guy who played Pilate). Judging on the films so far this year, The Terminal should get set design, Troy should get Special Effects and sound editing.

The Passion, I'm pretty sure will get nods for cinematography, score, make-up, directing and possibly an acting nod.

Deservedly or not, I think the Day After Tomorrow will win best special effects. Troy and POA will be the other 2 nominees.

The Terminal really deserves a nomination for set design.

Doesn't The Passion have wailing ethnic women...that a sure bet it'll win best score.I'm afraid they'll toss that movie a few Oscars because of it's self proclaimed importance, and that Williams will be the loser again.

Does The Passion count for a best motion picture Oscar because it was technically an independent film, am I right?

~Conor

no you're wrong.

Best Picture,

The Passion,

The Aviator,

Phantom of the Opera,

?

?

Best Actor,

Leo DiCaprio, the Aviator

????

Best Actress

?????

Best Score

John Williams HPPOA

John Williams the Terminal

John Denby, the Passion

JNH, The Village

God I hope giapoopoo doesn't get nominated or this place might as well turn into his official website, I mean there are so many kissing his ass or doing something to his front now on this MB.

Best Song,

Something from Shrek 2

John Williams, Double Trouble

Best Visual Effects shouldn't even be a category this year,

just give Sky Captain the award, it blows everything else away.

It defines "SPECIAL" effects.

Well,Joe,you can vote to pass "Proposition 407" which would change the MB rule:

03 - Discussions concerning film music, movies or music in general are allowed in the General Discussion Forum,EXCEPT Michael Giacchino which must be discussed elsewhere.

My hopes for score nominees are the two JWs and JNH's The Village. I liked Sky Captain a lot too, but haven't heard it on album and the film didn't get a lot of attention, great as it was.

I would rather have Newton Howard win this year than anyone. He deserves it - the man is amazing and is constantly overlooked.

At least Chariots of Fire was great. Raiders was supremely greater, but it wasn't exactly the Fame travesty.

Out of all the nominees mentioned here, I'd probably go for The Terminal, just not to break JW's 11 year win tradition, then HP PoA, then The Village.

I'd actually nominate Troy over most of the other options. I think Horner did a pretty good job, concidering the situation.

And since they left out The Girl With The Pearl Earing last year, they'll quite possibly nominate Desplat for Birth.

And I could see Alan Alda for The Aviator, and concidering the weak year, even O'Toole for Troy.

Last year the nominations were unusualy good. They picked some the best from a terrible year. It didn't matter in the end, since they all became LoTR fanboys, but the nominations were superb. Unlike 2002, where they picked rather mediocre choices from a great year.

Incorect answer,a true JWfan wants JW to win no matter what, even if he doesn't deserve it(like The Patriot).

Much as though I would like Phantom to win something just so that the show gets more recognition, I think this is a bit optimistic given it's a JoSchu movie!!

I look forward to Emmy Rossum' performance in anticipation, as I gaze at her through my mirror....

No score has enchanted me from beginning to end like "The Terminal." I think "Harry Potter" was fun, but not without its low moments.

As for the rest "Incredibles" was a surprisingly good score, and it should get carried on a nice wave of love for the movie. We'll just have to see, though. Score nominees are so hard to pick if you're not in the biz and don't get to see the reminder lists and hear the CDs.

Jeff -- who doesn't pick nominees this early

Songwise,it would have helped Williams if the version of Double Trouble on the c.d. was the one he played at the Hollywood Bowl. Its 100 X more awsome
