  1. Years ago I went to the cinema in the afternoon in the middle of the week. It was a low key movie, and at that time of a work day, only a handful of people were in the medium sized screen so we were quite spaced out. There was nobody sitting near me. About 45 minutes in to the film (which was a full hour after the advertised start time due to ads and trailers) a random stranger comes and sits right beside me. He then leaned over and asked me, "What did I miss?". He must have been deluded if he expected me to provide a summary of the movie so far.
  2. I still remember what an absolutely seismic event JW dropped out of Bridge of Spies was. I was at work when I heard the news and could barely concentrate for the rest of the day.
  3. It's terrifying. Proper 1970s horror. Likewise with Corine being chased by the dogs. But the movie also has a double taking pigeon and Jaws pulling goofy faces. It's one of the most tonally inconsistent movies ever. It's like the editor accidentally spliced two movies together.
  4. The Mardi Gras source cue is surprisingly delightful.
  5. What you said here about TFA can be applied exponentially more to TROS.
  6. I really enjoyed the new Fantastic 4 score. The rest are some of my favourite background listening albums when working.
  7. John Williams always plagiarised John Cage with those silences.
  8. Richard Dreyfuss and Steven Spielberg comfort John Williams who was left shell-shocked after hearing a clip of the 2025 Superman score.
  9. Let's say JW releases a statement tomorrow saying he had a stroke or a heart attack or whatever. I don't see how that would possibly change anything or have any real impact on what we do already know. He suffered a medical issue which has visibly taken a toll and has caused some mobility issues. But he is not housebound and the fact that he has written a score to an upcoming movie means his mental faculties are intact. Knowing the exact nature of that medical issue is irrelevant.
  10. That song is so rubbish that the release would actually have been worse if it were included
  11. LLL is churning out the Bond releases at a fairly regular pace now so I'd be surprised that there would be any significant approval delay given that pre-existing and proven relationship they have with the rights holders. Although I am speaking as someone with zero knowledge of how this actually works. Perhaps the delay is caused by Duran Duran if it is A View To A Kill that is delayed.
  12. Amazing, a fitting tribute considering that countless memories have been formed over the decades by people listening to his music there.
  13. I wonder why JW's involvement wasn't officially announced earlier. If that Juilliard guy didn't happen to randomly mention it in conversation, the sessions probably would have started this week without JW's score being public knowledge yet.
  14. That main title track really does remind me of something that would be written for a 1970s action thriller. It's great!
  15. It's really disappointing that The Last Bus isn't great. I was hoping for a throwback to the 90s disaster scores like Dante's Peak.
