  1. The first Spielberg movie I saw in the cinema was Jurassic Park aged 8. I have seen all subsequent ones in the cinema except Schlinder's List, Saving Private Ryan and Amistad. I was too young for those movies in the 90s. The very first movie I ever saw in the cinema was Home Alone 2. Nice that it was a JW scored movie before I even knew who he was.
  2. I think it's incredible that we are getting another movie from the same director/composer duo that did Jaws over 50 years after its release.
  3. He looked remarkably good for a person in their early 90s. He, and by extension his fans, have been blessed with a truly long and productive life.
  4. JW reminds me a bit of Sean Connery. Both looked decades younger than they actually were in their later years but then age eventually caught up with them. There were times in his late 80s when JW could have passed for someone in their early 70s.
  5. I was wrong about this being the last Williams score for a Spielberg film!!
  6. I'm waiting patiently for A View To A Kill, hopefully it will happen soon.
  7. War of the Worlds. Aside from The Intersection Scene, there is little that makes me return to that score.
  8. I watched The Rip. Surprisingly good for a Netflix movie. It's the type of cop thriller they used to make in the 90s.
  9. Years ago I went to the cinema in the afternoon in the middle of the week. It was a low key movie, and at that time of a work day, only a handful of people were in the medium sized screen so we were quite spaced out. There was nobody sitting near me. About 45 minutes in to the film (which was a full hour after the advertised start time due to ads and trailers) a random stranger comes and sits right beside me. He then leaned over and asked me, "What did I miss?". He must have been deluded if he expected me to provide a summary of the movie so far.
  10. I still remember what an absolutely seismic event JW dropped out of Bridge of Spies was. I was at work when I heard the news and could barely concentrate for the rest of the day.
  11. It's terrifying. Proper 1970s horror. Likewise with Corine being chased by the dogs. But the movie also has a double taking pigeon and Jaws pulling goofy faces. It's one of the most tonally inconsistent movies ever. It's like the editor accidentally spliced two movies together.
  12. The Mardi Gras source cue is surprisingly delightful.
  13. What you said here about TFA can be applied exponentially more to TROS.
  14. I really enjoyed the new Fantastic 4 score. The rest are some of my favourite background listening albums when working.
