  1. The beginning of Duel of the Fates would be a lot different if JW took that approach: "An-na, Sar-ah, An-na, Jenn-if-er"
  2. Is the choir just singing random girls' names? I hear Erika at 2:03 and Jordana at 3:10
  3. 'Tripping The Lights Fantastic' kinda reminds me of the quieter instrumental version of a Bond song that John Barry would often do. It's not as outwardly romantic as what Barry used to do but equally as lovely.
  4. To be fair, Jerry Goldsmith also asked his son to write some cues for First Contact.
  5. I haven't seen Stuckmann's review but at least he looks normal in his thumbnail
  6. The same happened to Sean Connery. He looked incredible up until his 80s then age finally caught up to him.
  7. A random side note, but while we are talking about JW's age, I recently started watching Mad Men and its first season is set in 1960. The culture and society it depicts is such a long time ago it feels practically alien from today's viewpoint, and yet the maestro was in his late 20s at the time. He really is blessed with a long healthy life.
  8. I feel the same way about the last 100 seconds of Visitor In San Diego from TLW. The percussion, the repeated use of the four note island theme, the shrieks from the strings and woodwinds, the frantic blasts of the brass, the string glissandi, the boom-tishes - it all sounds incredible and sonically very satisfying especially on a good surround sound system.
  9. Ha, thanks. Typing JW here is a force of habit
  10. I saw the movie this morning. Williams' main JP theme is used to underscore a random conversation between two characters about their backstories. They don't even talk about dinosaurs. A very odd decision. I guess they just wanted music that sounded nice for that scene but lazily used Williams' music inappropriately.
  11. I find it interesting that they included some film stem tracks under the Additional Music section when the original masters weren't available, but they didn't do that with Goldfinger. I wish they had done that for Goldfinger too, even if they were just mono stems after the main score presentation, it is better than still having unreleased cues. I had hoped the new 4k blu-rays of the Connery films would have iso scores but sadly not.
  12. Those are decent cues but the unreleased cues from A View To A Kill are more significant. Had OHMSS not already been expanded, it would be a totally different story.
