Until the moment we don´t know if Williams will work for film industry this year... so choose a type of movie - imagining that the film is of excellent quality - where Williams could put your musical skills!!!!

Mine: Justice/Crime Organized

actually i'll have to agree with Mark, John Williams scoring an animated feature would be very interesting, and if it was a disney feature, would probably land him an Oscar

I voted adventure, though I'd love to see him do an animated feature in the tradition of Disney (melodies from songs interwoven into the score) and show Menken how it is done. ok, i dont mean the last Menken bit, as I love a number of his Disney efforts (Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid and Hunchback comes to mind)

Historical epic.

Oh, yes... I forgot that one! :music:

It´s remember me music like "The Arena" or "Belly of the Steel Beast".

Ooh, a horror score! I would love to hear more of Williams's "dark" music. Dracula was fantastic :music:

One horror score as good as Dracula would be amazing!!!!

About my choice: justice/crime organized, I´d like to hear a Williams score in a film like The Untouchables, Ronin... or in the same way of Black Sunday or The Eiger Sanction.

Let him have a go at an animated feature. It'll be totally new for him (apart from the Mr. DNA sequence).

I agree a 100%, animation would be a new challenge for him and animated features can be great oportunities for wonderful scores, one of my favorite scores is the Nightmare Before Christmas, and while I don't have the score I remember the music from Land Before Time to be quite good (Horner, right??)

I believe he's been approached to score Aqua Teen Hunger Force: The Movie, so we may be in luck.

Personally I don't really care what he scores, so I suppose an "All of the Above" option should be available. :music:

Though I guess I have a leaning towards "Adventure" or "Sci-Fi" (patiently awaiting news from the Cameron camp on Battle Angel)

Aqua Teen Hunger Force??, that sounds like another one of those horrible anime-esque action kids shows you see all the time now on cartoon stations. I personally would rather him not score anything then score a pokemon-like movie.

^Aqua Teen Hunger Force is not anime-style at all; it's actually a clever (and downright bizarre) show, and definitely not for kids. It appeals more to the South Park/Family Guy/Simpsons crowd.

A musical (as Hook was going to be) would be awesome. Since that wasn't listed, I voted for horror. The listening world could do with some more Furies.

I'd love to hear another Horror score from him, but I don't think it's going to happen......so in this poll I've gone for Sci-Fi......

A horror score, a real horror score.

Not like Dracula which isn't a horror score but a gothic romance score,

not a Jaws, which is an action adventure score

not Jurassic Park which is a scifi action adventure score.

not the Fury, which is a scifi crime/who dunnit score.

but an honest to goodness outright, scare the s#1% out of me score.

You forgot fantasy! Not that we really need another one...

I'd go with horror. Something along the lines of The Fury - more melodic and less dissonant. I'd also like to see an animated Williams score, preferably from PIXAR as they're the only animation studio who make decent films nowadays - and most of their films are more than decent. Stay away from Dreamworks and Disney (when they're not distributing a PIXAR film).

I see PORN wasn't added to the list.  It's up to me now.

His porn music sounds like The Desert Chase from Raiders.......:)

Fantasy was the first genre I thought of....besides Potter and Hook, he hasn't really scored many of these, has he? Of the ones listed though, I'd definitely choose Adventure. Something along the lines of what Steef described, with tons of great, memorable themes, lush orchestrations, etc... Not that I really expect it to happen ever again. :?

Ray Barnsbury - who's not one bit ashamed about wanting/loving this type of score

Western. If they ever make films from Stephen King's Dark Tower series, Williams should be there.
