crumbs 15,516 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Breaking News: Thomas Newman has replaced William Ross as composer of The Force Awakens!
Loert 2,952 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 New wisdom incoming: "OK pals remember that after bar 32 we cut straight to 'Mars'!" Muad'Dib and Cerebral Cortex 2
Thor 9,308 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I certainly didn't realise Williams was so amusing during sessions! The drummer does the joke drum beat every time Johnny cracks a funny one.If so, that would be Don, John's brother.
BloodBoal 7,544 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Not JKMS, but whatever! John Williams with brothers Don and Jerry at today's #StarWars scoring session. pic.twitter.com/T64n897qEs— Doug Adams (@DougAdamsMusic) 13 Octobre 2015 Cerebral Cortex 1
Balahkay 629 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Interesting. I'm eager to find out why the recording sessions are still going on. The film is nearly two months away now.
Sharkissimo 1,975 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 JKMS is the ultimate prick teaser for us film music nerds.
mrbellamy 7,325 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 "Joanna Kane Music Service"? Yeah, you're on to something.
King Mark 3,834 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 They seem to all be holding Williams in an upright positionInteresting. I'm eager to find out why the recording sessions are still going on. The film is nearly two months away now.I dunno..I think Williams was more sick than was led to believe and had to skip all summer recording
nightscape94 967 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Not sure you can immerse yourself in a score more than Williams has with TFA. He's spent almost a year of his life on this going back to the teaser. He's been writing the first half of the year and consistent recording sessions throughout the second half. He's probably going to suffer withdrawal and start wearing a Jedi cloak by the time he's done.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,949 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 His resides in an iron long, which is wheeled to the recording studio every day. He whispers instructions to William Ross....And a good day to you sir! I just want to say, sir, that we're both enormous--on a personal level enormous fans. Star Wars, especially the early episodes, has been a source of, uh, inspir....
King Mark 3,834 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 weird, the text in your post is exceeding the MB window

What do you want? When we are that age, we will not have back problems, because we will be dead.
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,261 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Speak for yourself sir. I plan to live forever. #STIBTE

BloodBoal 7,544 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 They seem to all be holding Williams in an upright positionAnd they need 6 persons to do that! It's looking grim, Jim.

crumbs 15,516 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Just imagine if this is an entire session of alternates and revised cues, ala Tintin. I love that idea much more than the possibility the scoring was put on hiatus after their sessions in June. I'm just relieved Maestro is back doing his best work and recovered from the procedure. In any event, it sounds like a lot of music for TFA. It'll make a fabulous special edition 2CD set in a few years time if someone's inclined to produce it. I wonder why Doug is at the recordings?
Joni Wiljami 1,233 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 It made me sick to read all this shit.
BloodBoal 7,544 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 You know what you need to feel better? A pacemaker!

Jay 42,489 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 That's my question... Are these quotes from today, because they are recording today? Or is it just random quotes from any random time this summer?
Luke Skywalker 2,204 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Really, are we going to have a single 'film version' note on the CD?
Will 2,329 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 "It may not be good, but it's right." - John WilliamsI just made that quote my signature
crumbs 15,516 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 This is the score that doesn't end... It goes on and on my friend!
crumbs 15,516 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 BFG trailer?Surely that's due out around Christmas?
Loert 2,952 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if they're still recording after the soundtrack is released!
Will 2,329 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Perhaps it's for The BFGBFG trailer?Surely that's due out around Christmas?I hope so! It would be really cool if Williams premiered a theme in the trailer. There's a chance we might even have a trailer by the end of this month, and I'd be surprised if we don't have one before the end of this year.
Not Mr. Big 4,818 Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 What if the Williams-scored BFG trailer premieres before The Force Awakens? I'll probably have a stroke. crumbs 1
crumbs 15,516 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Maybe JJ decided he wanted to try a completely new theme for every single new character, just because he could. And now John has had to rewrite and rerecord every single cue in the film?
Will 2,329 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 What if the Williams-scored BFG trailer premieres before The Force Awakens? I'll probably have a stroke. Now that would be awesome.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,949 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I wonder if this means there's a lot of last minute TFA rescoring? The line "it may not be good but it's right" scares me!
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,261 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Nah that's just someone asking about a suspicious accidental or something like that, making sure it isn't a misprint.
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,261 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I reckon one of the musicians wanted to clarify that his or her part was notated correctly. John may have written something unusual, and they're checking that it's what he intended and not a copying error or something. In his usual way, he assures that it's "right," although what he's written may not be "good."
nightscape94 967 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Just Williams being Williams. Funny guy, that Williams.
King Mark 3,834 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Williams might be too burnt out to score BFG
