Luke Skywalker 2,216 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Michael Giacchino fans might want to check this page out:Propulsive Music: The Music of Peter BoyerI cannot believe our luck here, but it contains the entire cue "Can You Shoot Me Now?" from Mission: Impossible 3.Super cool! At last, complete...
fommes 161 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Indeed, it's BY FAR my favourite action cue from the score. Between Philosopher's Stone and this, I don't know what's happening. Such luck is normally reserved for Goldsmith fans.
Jay 42,632 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Just saw this on FSMThere's a mini-interview with Mike G in the latest issue of Empire magazine. He confirms his 2011 slate as SUPER 8, CARS 2 and M.I.-4Was it already known that he was scoring Cars 2?
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Just saw this on FSMThere's a mini-interview with Mike G in the latest issue of Empire magazine. He confirms his 2011 slate as SUPER 8, CARS 2 and M.I.-4Was it already known that he was scoring Cars 2?Yeah. We got into a debate on whether or not he's now the house Pixar composer (at the top of this page).
Muad'Dib 1,950 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 He's probably scoring Cars 2 because of the James Bond feel the movie seems to have based on the trailers. I guess Newman didn't want to write in a John Barry style, so they probably handed it to Giacchino, who's an expert on this matter.
davros72 1 Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Hmm... William Shatner interviews Michael Giacchino... Haven't watched it myself, but there it is for ya.
John Crichton 4 Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 I think it was more wishful thinking, but based on some very flimsy rumors, IIRC. I'd be surprised if it happened.
Muad'Dib 1,950 Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 IMDb lists Powell. But I don't know how accurate that may be...
John Crichton 4 Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Never trust IMDB for anything that hasn't been finished and released.
Trent B 348 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Never trust IMDB for anything that hasn't been finished and released.Bingo and most of you should know this by now.
Demondm810 437 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I'm glad MG is going Cars 2. Another cast and crew cd!
Taikomochi 1,328 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 William Shatner kinda sucks at interviewing.
ZackR 183 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Cast & Crew CD'S....Love those. Just wish I could find Toy Story 3's!
Muad'Dib 1,950 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Nice! If Giacchino goes for a full MOHA approach, it will be awesome!
crocodile 9,218 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 It's a nice possibility, but then again Broughton would be even better.Karol
crocodile 9,218 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Yeah, but keep in mind we're dealing with Marvel here. Remember what happened to John Debney this year?Karol
John Crichton 4 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Mark, would you like a tranquilizer?
Sweetmeats 2 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Please please please please please let this happen.
Delorean90 47 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I second Mark's thoughts on the Captain America developments. That would be unbelievably fantastic. I'm curious as to how they would be working together, but I'm not gonna complain if they're both on board in any capacity. Just having Broughton attached at all to a major project is quite cool.
Maurizio 5,946 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 If Giacchino will succeed in bringing Broughton to such a top-profile project, well, huge kudos to him!
Jay 42,632 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 According to wikipedia, Giacchino will be scoring a film called 50/50 that comes out this September. Anybody know anything about it?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/50/50_%282011_film%29

I like it! Is it me or was the start of this tracked somewhere in the film? The dive scene perhaps?
Luke Skywalker 2,216 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 i think they talk about it in the thread dedicated to star trek 2009.

Koray Savas 2,256 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 This was on his LastFM page and made me laugh.
Trent B 348 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Hopefully Giacchino will be back to score the next Star Trek film.
OneBuckFilms 452 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 That's almost a given. He needs to expand upon, and cement, what Abrams' Star Trek sounds like.
Kevin 23 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 That's almost a given. He needs to expand upon, and cement, what Abrams' Star Trek sounds like.Especially that short main theme.
Jay 42,632 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 So that interview essentially confirms that we're getting 3 Giacchino scores in 2011: Super 8, Cars 2, and Mission Impossible 4.So why does this website say that he is scoring two other 2011 movies: Monte Carlo and 50/50?http://michaelgiacchinomusic.com/works.htm
fommes 161 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 So that interview essentially confirms that we're getting 3 Giacchino scores in 2011: Super 8, Cars 2, and Mission Impossible 4.So he's only scoring sequels now!
crocodile 9,218 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Don't forget the infamous Super 0: The Beginning. Karol
Neimoidian 14 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 You mean you haven't seen Super 1 through 7?I only end up on Fantastic 4, which I guess must have been something in between, but slightly better.
Luke Skywalker 2,216 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Well first off, that's not an official site.the trailer of montecarlo, though, has Michael giacchino's name stamped on it.
Jay 42,632 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Interesting. Why wouldn't he have mentioned it in the interview, then? Maybe it was completely written and recorded before he started working on Super 8 and Cars 2?
Jay 42,632 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 So we have:June 10: Super 8June 24: Cars 2July 1: Monte CarloSep 30: 50/50December 13: Mission Impossible 4That's one insane year! And he'll follow that right up with John Carter of Mars and Star Trek (X)II in 2012... tremendous!
josefsuma 10 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Giacchino will be one of the Guests on Concert for Help in Prague ... Here is the website for more informations http://concert.forhelp.cz/guests.html
